Kid Bookie unleashes ferocious new single ‘H.A.T.E.’

Having already sent shockwaves through the alternative world with the emotionally devastating “Prettier,” the Corey Taylor collaboration “BLAME,” and the groundbreaking “Rose McGowan” featuring Rose McGowan herself, Kid Bookie returns with perhaps his most explosive statement yet. For more than a decade, the South East London visionary has been tearing down the walls between UK rap, alternative rock and heavy music, carving out a sound entirely his own. From earning early recognition on BBC Radio 1Xtra to becoming a MOBO Award nominee for Best Alternative Music Act, Bookie has continually challenged expectations, building a career on fearless creativity and total authenticity.

With “H.A.T.E.”, he doubles down on everything that has made him one of Britain’s most exciting genre-defying artists. A visceral collision of razor-sharp bars, crushing riffs, eerie atmospherics and punishing production, the single taps back into the trap metal energy that first established Bookie as one of alternative music’s true innovators. Simultaneously aggressive and cinematic, “H.A.T.E.” channels raw frustration into an anthem that refuses to compromise.

Speaking about the track, Kid Bookie explains:

“‘H.A.T.E.’ is an anthem for those who just sometimes just need to say ‘fuck it’. I wanted to make a song that was a nod back to what people know me for but also the intensity of where I lie within heavy music. I’ve been called all types of genre’s and names since I came in this game and for once, I feel like consciously honouring those titles, this is heavy rap at its finest, trap metal at its ugliest with the lyricism of what has got me recognized by some of the greatest rappers to spit a bar.”

“H.A.T.E.” continues to reveal the sonic depth and emotional intensity of Cheaper Than Therapy II, Bookie’s most ambitious and accomplished work to date. The eleven-track album is the definitive evolution of its acclaimed 2021 predecessor, seamlessly blending trap aggression, massive hooks and brutally honest storytelling into a record that is as emotionally vulnerable as it is sonically devastating.

The album unites one of the most eclectic and exciting line-ups assembled on a modern alternative record, featuring appearances from Corey Taylor, Rose McGowan, Lady Leshurr, Shona McGarty, and a special interlude from Kate Nash. Produced primarily by long-time collaborator Ziey Kizzy alongside Bookie himself, with additional production from Sid Wilson (Slipknot) and Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Nova Twins), Cheaper Than Therapy II represents the sound of an artist operating without creative boundaries.

Already hailed as one of Bookie‘s most personal records, the album follows the release of the deeply affecting single “Prettier“, a powerful exploration of domestic abuse, trauma and survival, while “BLAME“ reunited Bookie with Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor for another explosive collaboration. Together with the fearless “Rose McGowan“, these singles have showcased the remarkable emotional and musical range of a record that refuses to conform to genre or expectation.
