Läjä Äijälä and Albert Witchfinder announced second album
The year 2021 saw the chance meeting of two Finnish iconoclasts from different generations – Läjä Äijälä, the leader of Finland’s first hardcore punk band Terveet Kädet and an all-around underground artist teamed up with Albert Witchfinder of Reverend Bizarre, Opium Warlords and others to create horrifying minimalist electronics and nihilist poetry on the album Centuries of Youth (2021 Svart Records).
The creative process is still ongoing, and early 2023 brings the second collaborative work by the duo. The new album, titled Ordeal and Triumph, is somewhat more musical than the first one, but still uncompromising, extreme and merciless. Witchfinder‘s chants about the wretched human race laid upon Äijälä‘s cold minimalist electronic outbursts create a suffocating infusion of hatred and disgust able to carry the listener to the verges of the burning world. The album is titled Ordeal and Triumph, and it is being made available on CD and digital platforms on March 10th.
The first single cut is a 20-minute slab of three compositions melted together into a humongous ball of black lava. Titled “Deimos, Including Twilight World, Pit and Digitalis”, the single is out now, and it can be accessed via the link here: https://orcd.co/gxlye9e
Pre-order for the CD is active now and available HERE.
