Neo thrashers Persecutor launches attack with new single ‘Acta Est Fabula’ and album announcement

Thrash Metal

Danish thrash metallers PERSECUTOR are once again launching a relentless assault as they release their third album ‘Casualties of Violence’ on March 20th, 2026. The band delivers nine crushing songs in their characteristic style, where riffing, melodic sensibility, and aggression merge into a powerful whole, with lyrics about death, war, cruelty, and the world’s many evils. Today sees the release of the first single ‘Acta Est Fabula’, on which the band states:

“‘Acta Est Fabula’ deals with the use of modern technology and AI, and how we are slowly replacing ourselves as humans and letting machines take over. It all has a bit of a TERMINATOR vibe and a dystopian future.”

PERSECUTOR will play an album release at Lille Vega in Copenhagen, Denmark on April 10th with special guests Koya, and more shows will be announced in the time to come. Tickets for VEGA are available HERE.

PERSECUTOR was formed in Denmark in 2018 with the vision of playing thrash metal with both melody and aggression. The chemistry between the four members was undeniable, and the band quickly gained momentum. Already in 2019, their debut album ‘Rebirth’ was released, followed by a string of intense live shows that showcased PERSECUTOR as a convincing live band. During the pandemic in 2020, the band released a couple of singles while writing songs for their second album.

In 2023, PERSECUTOR returned with their second album ‘Vendetta’, which, with its nine hard-hitting tracks, truly established the band as one of the leading exponents of neo-thrash. The record received significant international attention from the music press, but most importantly, the enthusiastic metal audience, who since the release have been able to experience the band performing triumphant shows in Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, and at festivals such as Copenhell and The Great Escape in the UK. The band has remained creative throughout, and alongside their intense live activity, PERSECUTOR has continued writing and recording new material.

Now, PERSECUTOR can present their third album, ‘Casualties of Violence’. The album consists of nine energetic thrash metal tracks, with consistent, in-your-face songwriting and riffing that combines the best of the classic bands with a fresh neo-thrash approach. It delivers a distinct sense of melody and variation in the arrangements. Once again, the band recorded with producer Andreas Linnemann (Baest, among others), but this time also involved German Nino Helfrich, who handled mixing and mastering in collaboration with Joel Wanasek.

PERSECUTOR is:
Benjamin Stage Hejgaard Pedersen: Lead Guitar
Christian Andrés Almanza: Vocals, Bass
Christopher Hejgaard: Drums
Stefan Sørensen: Rhythm Guitar
