Swedish melodeath act Frantic Amber signed with Fireflash Records!

FRANTIC AMBER is a 6-piece melodic Death Metal band based in Stockholm, fronted by five incredible female musicians. With women on the front lines, FRANTIC AMBER has fortified their place as one of the most promising extreme metal acts to emerge from Sweden. They started by releasing their EP “Wrath Of Judgement”, followed by the two critically acclaimed full-length studio albums “Burning Insight” and “Bellatrix”. Their unique sound is an intense mixture of brutal riffs and soaring melodies combined with aggressive growl vocals.

FRANTIC AMBER have headlined their own tours and supported bands like SIX FEET UNDER and ENTOMBED A.D. They have played at festivals like Sweden Rock and Wacken Open Air, toured in Scandinavia and all over Europe in countries like Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, Colombia and Russia.

FRANTIC AMBER announced the signing with Fireflash Records (HOLY MOSES, MEZZROW a.o.), where the band is going to release their upcoming singles as well as their next album, which is supposed to be released in spring 2024.

“We are stoked to begin this new journey and will release our upcoming singles and album under the guidance of Markus Wosgien and his label. Thank you so much for believing in us and we look forward to working with you”, comments the band. “I got introduced to Frantic Amber by my wonderful wife Nicole, who is fan of them and played their latest album “Bellatrix” on high rotation in our home office. When their drummer Mac stepped in as a session-drummer in Mezzrow, we got introduced to each other and felt the right chemistry and excitement. I was impressed by the do-it-yourself attitude of the band, and the success they already achieved”, adds Markus Wosgien of Fireflash Records.

The first FRANTIC AMBER release on Fireflash Records will be their new single “Black Widow”, which will be released on April 21st.

FRANTIC AMBER started in 2008 as a project in Stockholm by founding guitarist Mary Siebecke with the intention to play metal with females. At first it was an experiment through various genres and with clean vocals. It wasn’t until 2010, with the recruitment of Danish ballet dancer Elizabeth Andrews on extreme vocals as well as Japanese vocal and guitar teacher Mio Jäger handling lead guitar and main songwriting, that the identity of FRANTIC AMBER started to take its form into the melodic death metal beast they are known as today.

Their music can best be described as melodic Death Metal with Thrash, Black, Progressive, Classic Heavy Metal and Symphonic elements. The thunderous bass together with the technicality and power of the drums provide the backbone, while the guitar’s shredding and soaring melodies complete the soundscape together with Elizabeth‘s powerful and aggressive vocals.

Their first EP “Wrath Of Judgement” was released in 2010 and landed them the opportunity to play live on national TV at the prestigious “P3 Guld” awards. Gaining momentum FRANTIC AMBER toured in Europe with SIX FEET UNDER among others and multiple tours in Russia followed by releasing three videos for the songs “Wrath Of Judgement“, “Bleeding Sanity” and “Ghost“. In 2012 they won the Swedish Wacken Metal Battle and got to play a show at the huge W:O:A festival.

Their debut full-length album “Burning Insight” was finally released worldwide in 2015 and caught raving reviews. Due to internal differences, a line-up change was made and they found a perfect fit in immensely talented bass-player Madeleine Gullberg Husberg from Swedish heavy metal band DWARF and Colombian drummer Mac Dalmanner, from brutal death metal legends INSISION. With a stronger than ever line-up, they continued their journey and toured Europe and Sweden to promote the debut album. They also won a show on Sweden’s biggest rock festival: Sweden Rock Festival, competing against thousands of bands.

Since then, FRANTIC AMBER released three more videos for the songs “Burning Insight“, “Soar” and “Gráinne Mhaol“, which has gained millions of views on YouTube. They sold out and re-released their debut album, played numerous festivals and toured around Europe. They have shared stages with bands like BEHEMOTH, EXODUS, SABATON, EXCITER, HAMMERFALL, CARACH ANGREN, DARK TRANQUILITY, UNLEASHED, TAAKE, INSOMNIUM, MYRKUR, SPORTÖOV and TARJA.

In April 2019, FRANTIC AMBER released their single “Scorched Earth” which placed on multiple Spotify playlists. Another single “Joshitai” followed in May, leading up to the release of their upcoming second full-length album “Bellatrix” which translates to “female warrior” in Latin. It’s a concept album about warrior women that have lived and fought throughout history. It is a tribute to highlight these real life heroines and tell their story through music and words.

FRANTIC AMBER embarked on their “Bellatrix” tour in February 2020 and continue to conquer stages all over the world with their fierce and powerful live-show and will stop at nothing to share their passion for music with metal fans around the globe.

FRANTIC AMBER are currently working on their third full length studio album. The first single “Angel Maker” was released in November 2021, followed by “Bloodbath” in May 2022. Last month, FRANTIC AMBER was nominated by IMPALA as one of three Swedish acts to be included in the worldwide “100 Artists to watch” program this year.
