Syk stoked to announce that they’ll be touring Europe

News, Progressive

The Italian avant-garde outfit Syk are gearing up and excited to be touring in Europe to select locations! In April they’ll be playing in Italy, Switzerland, Poland and Czech Republic, with about halfway their stops the highly praised Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Netherlands! To then in May play another few dates in Italy and Slovenia as support of the industrial metal legends Godflesh!

The band nucleus is formed by Stefano Ferrian and Federico De Bernardi Di Valserra both former members of the well known avant-grind monstrosity psychofagist. which demolished stages throughout Europe and Israel for years with bands like Brutal Truth, Misery Index, Cripple Bastards, Natron and many others. They decided to form a new project together with Dalila Kayros after .psychofagist. disbanded on the last European Tour after 16 years of activity.

Few months and a lot of work later the first album “Atoma” has been unleashed through the Czech label L’Inphantile Collective following some shows supporting bands like Godflesh and Gigan.

Later the band signed to Philip H. Anselmo‘s Housecore Records to release the brand new album entitled “I-Optikon” produced by Philip Anselmo together with his fellow engineer Steven Berrigan. Since the new compositions would need some more high gain onstage the band started looking around for a second axeman to join the group. Luckily the well known Italian guitarist Gianluca Ferro (who collaborated with musicians like Andy Timmons, Kiko Loureiro, Guthrie Govan, Jeff Loomis etc) answered the call joining the band.

“Extremely heavy, unique, complex and innovative Avant-Garde music from Italy featuring the brilliant Dalila Kayros on vocals and Noise. This band bucks every trend possible with an ear assault not likely found in today’s Heavy Metal scene”

this is how Philip H. Anselmo defines SYK.

From what we’ve understood out of a recent Facebook post, they’re working on new music for their third album which we can only look forward to…
