Texas progressive metalcore outfit Fervence signs to Metal Blade Records

Metalcore, Progressive Metal

Metal Blade Records is pleased to welcome FERVENCE to its legendary roster for the release of their forthcoming new full-length.

Behind the roll-up door of a warehouse off a nameless dirt road in farm country near Austin, FERVENCE is quietly building something heavy and special. The five-piece progressive metalcore band hails from Reno, Nevada, but in the Summer of 2024, in perhaps the most “Nevada” move of all, the band put all their chips on the table, rolled the dice, and relocated from The Biggest Little City to one of the fastest-growing areas in the country – Austin, Texas. A risky bet for sure, but one that has paid off in spades.

Inspired by bands like Deftones, Architects, and Silent Planet, the FERVENCE sound is an ethereal blend of harsh and lush, navigating between moments of sheer aggression and poignant vulnerability. What started out as the solo project of guitarist Trent Odneal eventually blossomed into a full-on band around 2019, solidified with the recording of their debut album Ghost, released in March of 2020, at the height of the pandemic. The record was well received and well-reviewed-press calling Ghost an “emotionally-laden and hard-hitting record that contemplates what it is to be human [Vinyl Chapters].” Despite the accolades, all FERVENCE‘s promotional and touring efforts were halted by the Covid shutdown.

After a couple lineup changes, the band reemerged in 2023 with vocalist Stevie B. now at the helm, bringing her unique brand of ethereal aggression to the project. The band spent the next year touring the West Coast, continuing to build their local following in Reno opening for the likes of Otep, Left To Suffer, and Gideon, and releasing four singles that would make up their second offering, an EP titled Realm//One.

The first single “Hezekiah,” got the ball rolling, followed a couple months later by “Entropy,” but it wasn’t until the band moved to Texas and released “The Keepers” that the buzz really started to build. The track quickly gained steam internationally, amassing hundreds of thousands of streams within the first six months, and ultimately catching the attention of Metal Blade Records, who signed the band in May of 2025.

“I’ve been dreaming of being in a metal band since I was a little girl and my parents were rock promoters in my hometown,” says Stevie B. “I’m so proud of my bandmates for putting their all into this, and absolutely grateful to the legendary Metal Blade Records for picking us up on this journey. I’m gonna give ‘er all I got.”

Odneal recalls writing songs in the bedroom of his apartment in 2018 and calls the singing to Metal Blade “unreal. I could not possibly be happier and prouder of our team,” he says. “It goes to show, having nurtured our fervent adoration for something I would describe as sacred, music, has opened doors we could have never imagined.”

Having carved out their own space in the Texas metal scene, and with their next chapter set to unfold under the banner of Metal Blade Records, FERVENCE is hard at work writing their most fully realized record to date. Behind the roll-up door of a warehouse off a nameless dirt road – and touring the country throughout 2025 – FERVENCE is building something heavy and special.

Stand by for more news on FERVENCE to be announced in the weeks to come.
