The Burbs release new single ‘There’s No Time For Presents’
The Burbs are delighting fans by turning a crowd favourite into a slick new single, “There’s No Time For Presents,” which dropped on 16th May 2025. Described as one of the most exciting acts we’ve had in the Australian scene in some time, the infamous three-piece keep turning up and keep exceeding expectations.
“There’s No Time For Presents” offers itself as a fresh, cool, energetic rock track, whilst simultaneously a carrying vessel for lyrical mastery. A first-time listen can take you on a bittersweet melodic journey that has a bit of everything, including a driving rhythm, moreish basslines, tasty drum fills, and heartbreak vocals. But then the allure to go and place it on repeat takes hold, and that’s when the lyrics start to hit like a punch to the stomach. Lines such as “Highly doubt if I could’ve done any more, but what happens at the times when you’re not sure” are artfully expressed in a way that is confronting to any of us who have been through a situation in which we felt a sense of failure, but also comforting in a sense that we are gifted a realisation that we haven’t been alone in this. The chorus is catchy, the verses are just as catchy, and a guitar solo two-thirds of the way through further shows off the trio’s songwriting prowess.
This new single marks The Burbs’ fourth release, following on from their 2024 demo album “Sunlight Spills Across The Swimming Pool” and subsequent singles “Ladder To The Moon” and “Skin And Bones” – both of which earned significant radio airtime in Australia and abroad.
Comprised of members Danny Valitutti, Peri Brown, and Brook Mckeon, the rock act from Bells Beach have been dialling up the wow-factor with every release and making the statement that they are here to stay. Love them or hate them, there’s something about The Burbs that makes you not want to turn away. They do their own thing, they’re unpredictable, they play by their own rules, and it’s hard to not want to come back for more.
The Burbs are announcing 2026 tours soon.
