Rise Of The Northstar drop new single ‘Neo Paris’

Alternative Metal, Nu Metal

French iconic metal band RISE OF THE NORTHSTAR return today with a brand new single. Let’s get straight to the point: “NEO PARIS” is a three-minute reminder to the world of the band’s nationality, an anthemic tribute to their origins.

Between crushing chorus, infectious groove and references to Japanese culture, this track is a heavy hitting modern metal/hardcore banger. “NEO PARIS” reminds us that Rise Of The Northstar was a pioneer in this field, as evidenced by the 9M views of the “Demonstrating My Saiya Style” music video filmed across Japan back in 2012, offering an artistic crossover tinged with Japanese culture, American sounds, and French insolence. There’s no doubt about it: The Northstar is coming back !

Mixed and mastered by Florent Salfati (lead singer of Landmvrks), “NEO PARIS” is the first blast in the next chapter of the band’s history. Frontman Vithia adds:

“”It’s violent and it’s beautiful” was the 1991 headline announcing the release of AKIRA and its NEO TOKYO in France. No territory outside Japan has been hit harder than France by the manga phenomenon and Japanimation. It was with this idea in mind that we composed “NEO PARIS.” Through this title and this artwork, I tried to illustrate a feeling, to assert our French identity while promoting the very special relationship our country has with Japan. NEO PARIS is also about explaining to the world that the City of Lights it romanticizes doesn’t really exist… That there is a daily reality of an urban jungle much more violent than it seems, but also that this environment has given birth to an artistic and musical scene that has embraced parts of Japanese pop culture and in which an entire generation has found refuge.”

About the music video shape, Vithia adds

“This is the first time we’ve incorporated animation into one of our clips, it’s a no-brainer for a band like us and in 2025 the planets have finally aligned. I’ve always tried to create a bridge between the fiction of our references and the reality of our lives in my lyrics, and NEO PARIS is the visual and thematic embodiment of this.”

“Metal-HxC-Rap-Manga”: 4 words that perfectly define their singularity.

Originating from the Parisian suburbs, the band claims an independent attitude and an uncompromising artistic crossover, having propagated and refined its explosive visual and sonic cocktail for over a decade.

At the crossroads of urban reality and Japanese fiction, with 3 EPs and 3 albums, the band has forged a unique style and identity over time, coupled with a solid reputation as a monster of stage energy.

Banger after banger, ROTN counts tens of millions of streams on its platforms, have recorded with Joe Duplantier of Gojira and still make the whole world jump, driven by powerful, groovy and thrashy songs  like “Here Comes The Boom”, “Again and Again” or “Showdown”, eponymous track from their latest album released in April 2023… Deal with this, from Paris with (one) love.

ROTN is:
Vithia (vocals)
Eva-B (guitars)
Air One (guitars)
Yoru (bass)
Phantom (drums)
