Chris Maragoth releases new single ‘Hidden Signs of Sadness’

, ,

Chris Maragoth is at it again with a new single and video that are out since October 10, 2025. There’s often some mystery in his tracks that plays with your emotions. He already told me it’s an instrumental track, but other than that, I know nothing. Let’s check it out.

A cello and a violin open the track. It gives a sad or sober vibe. Slowly, the electric guitar comes in and the vibe changes. It sounds like you are in a video game and the main boss is coming for you. But you are not afraid to come for him. You are not giving up, and this track isn’t either. The pace continues, the guitar takes the lead on top of the same melancholic vibe that the rhythm instruments create. This track is only 2 minutes and 40 seconds long, and it is over before you know it. Ending in the violin and the cello, with a hint of electric guitar, this song takes you on a journey, but also lets you land softly.

It’s interesting to watch the video, directed by Olga Kann, after I’ve only heard the track, to see Chris’ vision on this track. It shows a woman in a house full of plants that is reliving memories from the past of her loved one. Yet, she doesn’t seem to be extremely sad. To me, it looks like she is happy to have had those memories.

I think that’s the story of the song; somebody doesn’t necessarily need to look sad to feel sad. Again, a beautiful instrumental track that gets its message across without speaking.

Depths of Despair, the EP that will feature this track will be out in November this year. Be sure to treat your ears to music with a story.
