Copenhagen darkwave artist St. Digue announces new album and releases first single and video ‘Relapse’

Darkwave

Copenhagen darkwave artist St. Digue recently announced his third album ‘Secret Language’ for an October 16th release. On the new album, he realizes his artistic ambition across nine immersive and maximalist productions that embrace equal parts darkwave and industrial rock, while exploring a recurring theme of love through dynamics, emotions, sensuality, and self-examination, viewed from a neurodivergent and deeply personal perspective. Today, St. Digue shares the album’s first single and video ‘Relapse’, on which “examines how toxic patterns repeatedly destroy relationships.”

St. Digue is the alter ego of Copenhagen singer, songwriter, and producer Kasper Deichmann. St. Digue began as a side project in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Deichmann released the two EPs ‘Bloom’ and ‘Wilt’. In 2021, the debut album ‘Everything Hits At Once’ followed, along with the first live performances, and backed by considerable hype, St. Digue played his first international shows in 2022. In 2023, the second album Toxic Kiss was released to widespread acclaim, and the band’s first European tour became a reality. The DEATHWAVE EP followed in 2024, leading to a series of high-profile Danish performances throughout 2024–26, including appearances at Copenhell, A Colossal Weekend, and Metal Magic.

St. Digue’s sound fuses the harshness and coldness of metal and punk with the ethereal and dreamlike qualities of darkwave, creating an unmistakably otherworldly musical expression. Listening to ‘Secret Language’ feels precisely like stepping into that other world: a sonic landscape of sensuality, cold spaces, vast expanses, and inner and outer horizons that stretch across dimensions. Emotions materialize without restraint—melancholy, anger, grief, and aggression, but also fragility, devotion, and love.

Deichmann’s big ambitious artistic vision for ‘Secret Language’ shaped a creative process that lasted two years. He wanted the sonic palette to be markedly different, larger, and more complex; the compositions more timeless, refined, and nuanced; and the overall work had to reflect the artistic maturation Deichmann has undergone as St. Digue.

The album’s overarching theme is something as simple—and as complex—as love. Each song addresses a different aspect of relationships, including communication and dynamics. On a broader level, love itself can be viewed as a kind of otherness, where the internal and secret communication—the Secret Language—is reserved for those involved. The otherworldliness that St. Digue creates through his music is therefore mirrored in the album’s thematic core: love and the unique world it creates for lovers, along with everything that world may contain—sensations, emotions, and dynamics, whether expressed verbally or not.
