Blood Region – For All The Fallen Heroes

/ / By :

13 years. That’s how long it took Blood Region to release a demo and a single, but now their first EP For All The Fallen Heroes is out! They play Korpi Metal and do so for Inverse Records. They are from Finland, more specifically from Jyväskylä. They have Mika Minkkinen and Ari Ahonen on guitar and vocals, Sami Vertanen on drums, Aleksi Möksy on guitar and Riku Paananen on bass.

I really liked the vibe the album gave off, but my favourite track was by far Across The Dark River. The slower, doomy kind of feel it had, was really enjoyable and the way everything came together seems perfect. A highlight for me was also the really long instrumental part on In My Father’s Room. The artwork that came with the album seemed to compliment it greatly and I love the way the band already put the whole album in a playlist on Youtube, saved me the work from doing it myself. I must admit, what attracted me the most in the music was their feeling of raw metal but with a melo-death kind of approach behind it. And as it is, melo-death is my absolute favourite kind of metal.

Overall a really good album, and I’m looking forward to their next release!
