Desert Storm is coming to Antwerp to give a taste of their upcoming album “Sentinels”

News, Sludge Metal, Stoner Rock

[tabby title=”English”]

Riot Events presents on Monday February 26th a true slice of stoner/sludge metal from the band Desert Storm (ranging from Oxford, UK). The British quintet will grace the evening with brand new material of their upcoming album “Sentinels”, that will be released woldwide on March 16th through APF Records. As support for the release of “Sentinels” the Brits are touring Europe and will unleash a heavy batch of fiery riffs on the Antwerp crowd. As support the band Barabbas (from Genk, Belgium) is performing.

Coming March 16th, 2018 Desert Storm is presenting their latest album “Sentinels” with a worldwide release through APF Records. It’s the follow-up for their much praised album “Omniscient” from 2014. “Sentinels” was mostly recorded by engineer Jamie Dodd (Orange Goblin) in the Flesh @ Bone Studio’s in Hackney and finished by Steve ‘Geezer’ Watkins in the Woodworm Studios (which were regularly used by the legendary Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi). “Sentinels” is a colossal sounding records, of which the 10 tracks will smack the fans around the ears with a smashing, towering monolithic sound that’ll nestle in your brains, but never dampen the senses.

“This album is the natural progression with respect to our former releases”, guitarist Ryan Cole explains. “It has the Desert Storm sound, but moves towards much harder, darker and heavier directions.” The album cover of “Sentinels” was designed by Mattias Frisk, who has been the person behind several pieces of artwork and album covers of the band Ghost.

Besides the release of the album, the band will be touring through Europe in February and March and afterwards in the UK. Of which also the Netherlands and Belgium; starting at De Baroeg on Friday February 23rd, followed by Saturday February 24th at Café The Jack in Eindhoven as support of Komatsu, followed by February 26th at Kid’s Rhythm & Blues Kaffee in Antwerp (with support Barabbas) and after a tour through Eastern Europe the band is coming back to the Benelux on March 9th for a show at Jack’s Music Bar in Zwolle and lastly on March 10th at the Rock Classic Bar in Brussels.

In November 2013 Barabbas released their first official achievement: the split CD with From Cocktail To Fire, on which every band presented a personal signature of cool and (hard) rocking music. If you’re the kind of rock addict who would enjoy a heavy stew of Queens Of The Stone Age, Firebird, Mastodon and Black Sabbath, you might want to consider trying a dish served by Barabbas.

So grab the opportunity to expose your tasting buds to Desert Storm and Barabbas at Kid’s Rhythm & Blues Kaffee in Antwerp coming Monday. The doors open at 19h00, Barabbas starts at 20h30 on the dot, Desert Storm kicks off at 22h00. Go have a look at the Facebook event here.
