Distant release single & video ‘Fleshweaver’

Deathcore

Dutch/Slovakian downtempo/deathcore ensemble, DISTANT like to be busy and kept writing music despite their busy touring schedule and playing 117 shows in 2023 alone as well as tours with Suffocation and Born Of Osiris aside from headlining shows and playing festivals in 2024.

In honor of their 10-year anniversary as a band DISTANT are thrilled to present “Tsukuyomi: The Origin”, an expanded and revitalized version of their debut EP, “Tsukuyomi.” This release features seven brand new tracks alongside six revamped versions of songs, weaving a comprehensive tale that predates Tyrannt’s conquest through the universe. “Tsukuyomi: The Origin” not only delves into DISTANT‘s origins but also explores the lore behind their lyrics. It isn’t a standard remaster or simple rerecording, but the band overhauled the original songs to reflect their current sound and vision, ensuring the tracks get the attention they deserve. Expect new features (Matthew K Heafy, Alex Erian of Despised Icon, David Simonich of Signs Of The Swarm and Travis Worland of Enterprise Earth) and a seamless blend of fresh and re-recorded tracks.

They have unveiled another brand-new song, “Fleshweaver”, that the band already played during the latest shows. For the video they teamed up with Loki Films for another audio-visual assault: https://youtu.be/f40HIhWehOw

DISTANT comment:

“Fast, heavy and straight to the point. ‘Fleshweaver’ perfectly describes what DISTANT is about on the new record in its rapid carnage.”

“Tsukuyomi: The Origin” will be released November 22nd and is up for preorder in the following formats:

  • Standard CD Jewelcase
  • black LP
  • Ltd. transp. sun yellow-black marbled LP (500x) available through DISTANT
  • Digital album

After returning from an extremely busy summer run that took them to festivals such as Summer Breeze and Brutal Assault as well as a short tour with Born Of Osiris DISTANT will play a handful of European shows before heading to North America with Fit For An Autopsy, Bodysnatcher, Sylosis and Judiciary

19.09.24 (LV) Riga – Tu Jau Zini Kur
20.09.24 (FI) Helsinki – Techfest 2024
21.09.24 (EE) Tallinn – Paavli

DISTANT has become one of the prominent faces of European Deathcore. Melding together brutal death metal, slam, noise and beatdown with a hyper-dissonant orchestra of impending doom, they’ve come eons since their origins as metalcore obsessed friends in Rotterdam and Bratislava.

Stay tuned and watch them become immortalized.
