we don’t need to see flood,
rivers filled with blood,
death will follow”

[For I Am King – ‘Liars’]

The Dutch metal band For I Am King (FIAK) released their first new single in four years last week, titled ‘Liars’. FIAK‘s last musical output was their second album ‘I’ in 2018, the follow-up to their 2016 debut album ‘Daemons’. On ‘Liars’ you can hear the new drummer Ivo Maarhuis (ex-Izegrim), who is replacing their former drummer Jaap Relou.

Guitarist Koen Scheepens:

“The past couple of years were weird years for us all. The constant uncertainty if shows could or couldn’t happen were quite straining. Still, that period has also given us the room to work hard on new music and really take our time for it. This resulted in our best, heaviest and most detailed work to date. We can look forward to periods filled with concerts and new music with incredibly much eagerness and enthusiasm.”

Front woman Alma Alizadeh:

“The release of ‘Liars’ is for us a symbol for the start of a new period. We’re leaving the corona pandemic behind us, and are starting a new fantastic chapter: we’re back and are going harder than ever!”

Since its foundation in 2013, For I Am King has released two full-lengths (‘Daemons’ in 2016 and ‘I’ in 2018 that were positively received on an international level by fans and critics) and have given countless shows all over the world in Japan, China and Europa (Jera On Air, Wacken Open Air, Zwarte Cross, Metal Days, Into the Grave, Eurosonic-Noorderslag, FortaRock, Full Force, Paaspop, Into the Grave, Dokk’em Open Air, Breda Barst, 3FM and Q Music live radio).
