King Satan translates Britney Spears classic ‘(You Drive Me) Crazy’ into industrial metal

Industrial Metal

Finnish industrial metal/shock rockers King Satan are kicking off summer by gleefully corrupting a pop institution – Britney Spears’ iconic ‘(You Drive Me) Crazy’. The 90s earworm gets rebuilt into an explosive industrial party-metal anthem, stacked with heavy riffs, filthy electronics and enough rock ’n’ roll energy to turn nostalgia into a moshpit.

Frontman King Aleister Satan comments on the track:

“In this band there is more than one person who has very high opinion of early releases of pop icon Britney Spears. There was something really special with pop music in the late 90s and early 2000’s for all of us, and ‘(You Drive Me) Crazy’ is one of the songs which encapsulates that era perfectly. The uplifting energy with hint of melancholy, catchy rhythms and amazing melodies which never disappeared from our collective consciousness. And it did translate into industrial metal & King Satan style quite effortlessly, so this is our tribute to a piece of pop culture which programmed our subconscious to understand that a great song is a great song, regardless of genre!“

King Satan recently released their new single ‘Black Magick Rock ‘N’ Roll‘ featuring Erja Lyytinen, one of the most esteemed blues/rock guitarists in Finland, and ‘Light of Darkness‘, both taken from their upcoming album Black Magick Abraxas, which will be released on 6th November via Blood Blast Distribution.

King Satan are a genre-bending industrial metal band from Finland, created by enigmatic artist, multi-instrumentalist and producer King Aleister Satan. A spawn of sleazy riffs, seductive groove ’n’ roll, mesmerizing melodies, and provocative yet philosophical themes, the band’s music offers a carnivalesque blend of extreme metal crossover. A unique fusion of electronic party music and the occult side of heavy metal, served with the raw energy of rock’n’roll, the group themselves dub as ’death metal disco’.

Founded in 2015 in the city of Tampere (FI), King Satan have steadily carved out a distinct identity within the alternative, industrial and extreme metal scenes, gaining loyal following through relentless touring, provocative theatrics and a mercurial sound resonating somewhere between avant-garde and shock rock. Originally a solo studio project, the act crew into a full line-up band known for their energetic live shows, trickster-like narrative and infectious charisma.

The band’s unapologetic approach, not shy of controversy, combines dark humor, absurdism and social provocation together with esoteric and philosophical themes inspired by the dark side of the human psychology and the world’s mythologies. Renowned for their explosive stage presence, crowned by the dynamic vocal interplay between the band’s mastermind King Aleister Satan and keyboardist-vocalist Hekate ”Kate” Boss, creating a ’Beauty and the Beast’ style of a dialogue between raw darkness and eloquent power.

King Satan have toured extensively across their native Finland and Europe with own their headliner shows and also supporting such prominent names like Deathstars, Turmion Kätilöt and Gothminister. Touring has taken the band to perform to prestigious metal festivals as well like Tuska Festival and Masters Of Rock but also to acclaimed industrial-alternative festivals like Dark Malta and Hellsinki Industrial Festival – demonstrating the band’s versatile genre-defying expression.

With multiple (charting) full-length albums and award-winning music videos, the band continues to expand their unholy metal carnival beyond the boundaries of kitsch entertainment and mystic arts in the name of the wicked one!
