Metalcore unit Lumens unleash new single ‘CYBER’

Metalcore

Adelaide based metalcore unit LUMENS unleash new single ‘CYBER’, out 10th July via Wild Thing Records.

After releasing their critically acclaimed EP ‘Lumens’ the band are back with a stunning new single to launch their next chapter.

“CYBER” slips into the shadows where desire turns dangerous. Told from the perspective of the craving itself, the track coils around the listener with a seductive menace, a haunting voice that promises comfort while tightening its grip. Seductive clean melodies intertwine with taunting screams that shift from intimate whispers to vicious aggression. Crushing progressive riffs and explosive choruses drag you deeper into the psychology of craving something you know will ruin you. Intimate, predatory, hypnotic and deeply unsettling, CYBER refuses to let go. This is LUMENS at their most psychologically vicious.

At its core, LUMENS is about embracing the raw, unfiltered moments of life: the struggle, the chaos, the resilience, and the triumphs. They are the declaration, the reflection, and the call to arms for those who challenge, who question, and who feel too deeply. Formed in Adelaide, South Australia in 2022, the four-piece (Rhys Jackson Stars on vocals, George Carey on guitar, Henry Scott on bass and Miles Sly on drums) channel that spirit into progressive metalcore that is heavy, honest, and full of energy. Their debut single HNSN immediately turned heads, followed by Tamam Shud and Purist Hate, which earned solid national airplay on Triple J, placement on Homegrown + Heavy playlists, and the band’s selection as a Triple J Unearthed Feature Artist. These early releases built a loyal community around their raw, unfiltered approach.

In 2025, they took the next step with their self-titled debut EP. The record hit 100,000 streams in its first week, landed at #19 on the AIR Charts, and the band performed at Bigsound, proving they could deliver the same intensity live as they do on record. LUMENS thrive on contrast. Their music moves between technical, progressive riffs, crushing breakdowns, soaring melodies, and cathartic release. The self-titled EP explores the weight of inner battles, the need to push back against society’s expectations, and the search for real identity and freedom. It’s music that doesn’t just sound heavy: it feels heavy, reflecting the chaos and release that comes with being human. LUMENS also make space for fun, aggression, and the pure joy of loud, unapologetic heavy music. It’s punishing yet uplifting, chaotic yet deeply connecting.

Now LUMENS are heading into their next chapter with bigger, more introspective, and emotionally raw material. For them, it’s always been about creating music that meets people in their darkest moments and helps carry them forward. No gimmicks. No pretending. Just four guys from Adelaide making heavy music they genuinely believe in, while having a damn good time doing it.
