Miserere Luminis ink deal with Debemur Morti Productions

Atmospheric Black Metal, Black Metal

Forged in the searing crucible of Quebec’s Black Metal scene, a singular artistic entity emerged in 2008 which united the creative forces behind GRIS and SOMBRES FORÊTS. Born from the shared vision of band-members Neptune, Icare, and Annatar, MISERERE LUMINIS first revealed itself via two enthralling albums under Sepulchral Productions. Now, the band proudly announces its alliance with DMP for the release of future material.

MISERERE LUMINIS and their self-titled 2009 debut were originally intended to be a solitary flash of brilliance. As the band states:

“At the onset, MISERERE LUMINIS was meant to be evanescent, a one-time occurrence. It was a simple collaboration project between our respective bands, GRIS and SOMBRES FORÊTS. A flicker at first, we soon found that it had its own essence and identity. But plainly, it’s the only music we can create: a passionate and explorative Black Metal in which we pour our hearts.“

Fifteen years of artistic kinship have transformed that initial spark into a sustained creative flame. With the release of acclaimed 2023 second album, “Ordalie“, MISERERE LUMINIS returned from a longer stay in the shadows and embraced a more luminous presence. The journey now continues, with work progressing fast on an upcoming third album which promises to delve even deeper into the band’s signature sound: an intricate, atmospheric and emotive vision of Black Metal.

“Listeners can expect the next chapter of “Ordalie“. The next album was mostly created during the same time. We push some ideas and experimentations a little further on the next one, but it’s going to be in the same global vein: long pieces with contrasted moments, from epic to sorrowful, a blend of beauty and anger.“

Further details on the new album will be unveiled in due course. Until then, follow MISERERE LUMINIS on Facebook, Instagram, and Bandcamp, and experience “Ordalie” directly here!

Following their onstage endeavours in 2024, MISERERE LUMINIS is already laying the groundwork to bring their forthcoming new album to audiences across Europe.

“We certainly wish to come back to Europe as soon as the next album is released. Our next live appearance might be at the end of the year. But nothing is officially planned yet.“

MISERERE LUMINIS are an unorthodox, atmospheric Black Metal band who hail from Montreal and are born from the minds behind GRIS and SOMBRES FORÊTS, two prime-movers in the Québécois underground Black Metal scene. The band’s eponymous debut album was released in late 2009 on Sepulchral Productions, after which the band returned to the shadows. MISERERE LUMINIS was resurrected in 2018 for the creation of acclaimed second opus, “Ordalie“, which was unleashed in June 2023. Various live gigs – including an expansive Autumn 2024 tour through Europe with GIVRE – followed and demonstrated the band’s move towards a more luminous presence in future.
