Point Mort share a preview of upcoming album with new music video

Alternative Metal, Alternative Rock, Metalcore, Pop, Post-Hardcore

French chaotic popcore outfit POINT MORT premiere another powerful track off their forthcoming album ‘Le point de non-retour’ – out on April 25th 2025 via Almost Famous. Punkish helter-skelter new music video “Skinned Teeth” is all about enjoyable trouble and holy mess, in the way of 90s riot bands.

Paris-based postcore unit POINT MORT (“deadlock”) unveil a sensitive universe made up of pop, rock, electro and even hip hop, all linked by a direct, raw, hardcore energy. Lyrics, rhythm and riffage are straightforward and showcase a sharp vulnerability. The resulting popcore metal is bold and wild.

New track “Skinned Teeth” “brings to the fore a configuration of the band’s music that lets loose an anarchic punk methodology, evident in both the music and video”, say British media Louder Than War.

POINT MORT‘s new album ‘Le point de non-retour’ highlights this daring yet masterful combination of genres. Contrasting effects, rhythmic breaks and a range of different vocal techniques underline obscure topics that echo black metal’s distinctive attributes. It was recorded and mixed by Amaury Sauvé at The Apiary studio in Laval, France, and mastered by Thibault Chaumont of Deviant Lab in Saint Benoit, France. ‘Le point de non-retour’ is due out on vinyl, CD, streaming and download on April 25th 2025 via Almost Famous. Presave new single “Skinned Teeth”. Parisian postcore quintet POINT MORT surprise with their extreme sensibility, delivered in a brutal and instinctive way. In 2017, the band stepped into the Midilive studio near Paris (Vogue Records‘ legendary former studio) to record the five tracks of their first EP – the tortuous and intricate ‘Look at the Sky’ – in a one-day session  mixed by Sylvain Biguet and mastered by Nick Zampiello at Studio New Alliance East (Cambridge, USA). This first studio approach has defined the project’s modus operandi, which will henceforth favour this form of sincerity and urgency.

In 2019, building on this initial experience, POINT MORT release their second EP ‘R(h)ope’ with Amaury Sauvé on production and Thibault Chaumont on mastering. A worldwide pandemic later, the band return to the studio, still under the aegis of the Sauvé/Chaumont duo. Driven once again by the demands of live recording, POINT MORT release their debut album ‘Pointless…’ in April 2022.  The album marks the emergence of a fully-fledged personality, one that dares to clash styles and techniques with force and coherence.

Devastating on stage, the five musicians amaze with their sober, uncompromising performances, where emotion finds an unexpected way in between two smashing of teeth. Their unquestionable stage presence has taken them to the prestigious stages of Hellfest (Valley, 2022) and Motocultor (Main Stage, 2017), or on the road to the Cuban clubs during Brutal Fest Tour in 2018.

POINT MORT’s sophomore studio album ‘Le point de non-retour” is set to release on April 25th 2025 via Almost Famous.
