More recently she joined Walk-Off The Earth‘s 6 city arena tour in China in April 2024. In her rapid rise, RinRin has seen support from BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, Metal Hammer, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora and Deezer and also received regular support from Triple J. Having recently signed to new UK based label Year Of The Rat Records (Save Us, Lastelle, Black Orchid Empire) and getting added into rotation on MTV the third single ‘Gunmetal Black’ was released on the 23rd May 2025.

The protagonist, known as “Gunmetal Black,” was once an unfortunate soul. Stricken with spina bifida, he faced a lifetime of ridicule, bullying, and being viewed poorly thanks to his affliction. His disability kept him isolated, retreating to the brilliance of his mind and kept himself busy with intellectual pursuits. Life took a tragic turn when an accident took his life prematurely. His family, unable to afford a proper burial, made the difficult decision to donate his body to science, hoping that something good could come from their loss. Little did they know, their son’s brain—highly advanced and with immense potential—was preserved and eventually found its way into the hands of the emerging mecha technology industry. With the rise of mechanised warfare, Gunmetal Black’s preserved brain was seamlessly integrated into a state-of-the-art mech, essentially resurrecting him in a form that could never have been imagined in his previous life. The scientists who revived him were astonished not only by his cognitive abilities but also by his natural affinity with piloting via his fast-paced mind. He was able to operate the mech with an unparalleled understanding of tactics. His body may have been gone, but his intellect and drive made him an unstoppable force, striking fear into his enemies. Joining the military after passing numerous testing phases, he quickly became a prodigy in the art of warfare. His superior piloting skills and brilliant strategies elevated him far beyond the rank-and-file soldiers, earning him both admiration and fear from his comrades and enemies alike. His rise through the ranks was swift, as his reputation as a tactical genius and ruthless fighter spread. His past identity thrown away, he became known solely as “Gunmetal Black”.
