Sun, sweat, and steel… Rockfest 2025 opened in style in Turku. H.E.A.T. brought the fire, Sepultura gave Finland their final bow, and Judas Priest proved once more why they’re the Metal Gods.
Moon Shot, RØRY, and Stam1na took over Rockfest’s Red Stage and Black Stage with unforgettable performances, and we captured it all.
Nahka Agency brought a great blend of Finnish metal to Tampere’s Tavara-Asema on Friday May 16th with Amoral, Shade Empire and Voidfallen. Unfortunately the turn up wasn’t anywhere near to as much as it should have been for such a night of quality metal music.
In mid-May, Ääniwalli became a vortex of technical brutality and progressive intensity as Born of Osiris brought their tour to Helsinki. With support from death metal and deathcore juggernauts Ingested, the genre-bending Entheos, and Portugal’s The Voynich Code, the night unfolded as a showcase of modern metal’s most forward-pushing acts.
Pictures of an occult night in Helsinki with “The Unholy Trinity tour” striking down and taking over the Ice Halls. And with Behemoth, Satyricon and Rotting Christ we got from the top shelf of extreme metal!
Last month, both of our home countries met at a great event with some of the top of the underground metal scene like Unhoped, Rapid, Galvanizer and the very first appearance in Finland of the Belgian speed metallers of Bütcher!
The Convalescence stirred things up with a healthy serving of deathcore on a Sunday night at Piere’s in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and the help of support Mantra of Morta, Nailed Casket and Discard the Body!
Finland’s band of misfits King Satan released their latest album ‘The Devil’s Evangelion’ via Noble Demon, and such an epic album deserves a proper release tour of course. With them, they brought their friends of the dark elektro duo Miseria Ultima to open the night, and doomy outfit The Abbey as direct support at the Helsinki stop. An excellent night of great music and friends, and with all bands in absolute top form!
Pictures of a brutal night at Chinastraat in Gent with Benighted, Baest and Coffin Feeder!
We checked out the first day of the second edition of Hell’s Balls Belgium festival… With banging names like Triptykon, Primordial, Vltimas, the unofficial inclusion of the “Night Eternal tour” with Dark Tranquillity, Wolfheart and Moonspell, Carpathian Forest, Hellripper, Dead Head and The Monolith Deathcult, it was a true fest for any extreme metal fan!
