Ponte Del Diavolo release official live video for ‘Covenant’ from Roadburn Festival 2025

Italian ensemble PONTE DEL DIAVOLO release a live video of 2024 single “Covenant”, captured during their appearance at the legendary Roadburn Festival 2025 in Tilburg, The Netherlands. This performance highlights one of the most expansive tracks from their debut full-length Fire Blades From the Tomb, released in February of 2024 via Season of Mist.

Layering their dual-bass foundation with guest contributions on theremin, synthesiser, and clarinet, “Covenant” unfolds as a ritualistic procession between blackened doom heaviness and spectral dark-wave atmospheres. Its lyrics, evoking elemental upheaval and the album’s central image of “fire blades from the tomb”, are given new intensity in this live setting, with Erba del Diavolo’s commanding vocals at the forefront.

The video, filmed and edited by Underroom Studio, also serves as a symbolic closing of the Fire Blades From the Tomb era: a period that saw PONTE DEL DIAVOLO grow from their Turin underground roots into one of the most compelling new voices at the intersection of doom, black metal, and dark wave.

The Italian band proposes a Doom / Black metal sound with old-school roots, adding a modern and outside the box background. The female voice – with strong dark wave influences – is the lyric corpus of this strongly esoteric project. The solid presence of two bassists creates the massive foundation for the rhythmic guitar, everything marked by a raw and dynamic drumming.

Mystery of Mystery / Secret live session marked the quintet’s debut EP. It was recorded live and without editing at Dracma Studio with the producer L’Ossario in their home base of Turin in March 2020. “I” was released on the web by Iopan Records. It was soon followed by their second-ever single, “The Wickedest Woman In the World”.

At the end of 2021, PONTE DEL DIAVOLO recorded their second EP, Sancta Menstruis at Deepest Sea Studio in Turin with Danilo Battocchio. The first single, “The Unborn”, arrived in February 2022.

The band’s third EP, Ave Scintilla!, was also recorded in Turin. This time around, they reconvened at Dracma Studio with L’Ossario.

Signed with Season of Mist, PONTE DEL DIAVOLO released their debut album. Fire Blades From the Tomb forging classic, cultish doom metal with modern bents of post-punk. Lead single and opening track “Demone” is whipped along by a boiled black bass line and dark-wave induced vocals.

Prepare to cross over into the Italian dark arts.
