Gutrectomy release new song and video ‘Eating 6 Humans by Daylight’
“Eating 6 Humans by Daylight” is the second single from the upcoming EP “Slamdown is not a phase, Mom” (out May 29, 2026) and the natural escalation of everything “Stepdad Slamfight” set in motion some weeks ago. No melodies, no compromises, no lyrics – just pure, unfiltered slam stripped down to its most brutal essentials. Crushing riffs, heavy grooves, and maximum mosh potential for everyone who knows exactly why they’re in the pit.
The official music video pairs a raw forest setting with a dystopian, abandoned warehouse aesthetic inspired by classic horror cinema, visual brutality engineered for high-impact, highly shareable moments.
“Eating 6 Humans by Daylight” marks the next escalation in Gutrectomy‘s 15-year anniversary cycle, and a clear statement that the band has returned with zero intentions of taking it easy.
Slamdown is not a phase, Mom is a monstrous homage to the origins of True Slam. It is Gutrectomy at their most unfiltered, unapologetic, and brutally honest. Dispensing with traditional song structures and abandoning written lyrics entirely, the band has opted for a purely visceral experience. The vocals have been reduced to their most primal form: sheer, guttural violence that acts as an additional rhythm instrument rather than a vehicle for words. There is no message here, no philosophical undertones—just real, unadulterated brutality.

Gutrectomy was founded in 2011 in Lörrach by Philip Dahlenburg (guitar) and Yannick Schuler (drums). The original lineup was completed by Dennis Schuler on vocals and Daniel Mahler on bass. In 2018, Louis Weber joined the band as bassist, replacing Daniel Mahler. In 2020, Simon Wernert took over drumming duties from Yannick Schuler, before being replaced by Julien Kuny in 2023.
The band released its debut EP Slamageddon in 2014 via Rotten Roll Rex. This was followed in 2017 by their first full-length studio album Slampocalypse, released through Amputated Vein Records. After the independently released single Filius Mulieris Meretricis in 2019, Gutrectomy issued the EP Slaughter the Innocent in 2020 via Rising Nemesis Records.
The band’s second studio album, Manifestation of Human Suffering, was released in 2022 through Amputated Vein Records. This was followed by their third full-length album, ANGST, in 2025 via Reality Fade.
To kick off the following year, the band dropped the single I Am Endless on January 30, 2026. Building on that momentum, Gutrectomy is scheduled to release their brand-new EP, Slamdown is not a phase, Mom, in May 2026.
Gutrectomy has performed at numerous well-known European metal festivals, including Summer Breeze Open Air (2022), Party.San Metal Open Air (2018), and Deathfeast Open Air (2014, 2018, 2023, 2026). The band has also completed multiple European headline tours, including tours alongside Mental Cruelty and No Face No Case and will tour through Europe again in 2026 supporting Immortal Disfigurement.
