Dawn Of Solace announces new album ‘Affliction Vortex’ and share first single

Doom Metal, Gothic Metal, Melodic Death Metal

DAWN OF SOLACE, the brainchild of esteemed musician Tuomas Saukkonen from WOLFHEART and BEFORE THE DAWN, has set the stage for the imminent launch of their highly awaited new studio album, “Affliction Vortex”, scheduled to drop on February 14 through Noble Demon. Offering a glimpse into this monumental release, the band has lifted the curtain on their first single, “Murder“, a track that masterfully embodies the band’s signature fusion of Finnish melancholy and relentless intensity. The song is released alongside a brand new music video directed by Winter Notes Production, which you can watch here:

Tuomas Saukkonen shared his insight about the single, stating:

“Murder was the first song that got written and that usually comes my #1 pick for the first single. A majestic beacon that guided the rest of the creative process with its cold and dark light.“

Established in 2005 as Saukkonen‘s side project, DAWN OF SOLACE embodied a different shade of musical creativity, with their debut album “The Darkness” seeing the light of day in 2006. Despite a decade-long hiatus due to legal entanglements, the band’s loyal fan base kept their flame alive, with the debut album gathering momentum on digital platforms such as Spotify.

2019 marked a new beginning when finally all obstacles to continue the band were overcame and a new alliance was forged with Noble Demon. This partnership was one of the primal forces pushing DAWN OF SOLACE back to the international scene of melancholic metal, producing two full-length albums (“Waves” 2020, “Flames of Perdition” 2022) and an unplugged EP, until the band entered the studio in the beginning of 2024 to craft their most versatile album to date. The creation that emerged, “Affliction Vortex“, encapsulates Nordic melancholy and unadulterated Finnish darkness, poised to be unleashed on February 14, 2025!

“Affliction Vortex” was recorded, mixed and mastered by Saku Moilanen at DeepNoise Studios and is now available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

DAWN OF SOLACE are:
Tuomas Saukkonen – Drums, guitars, bass and growling vocals
