Eihwar to join The Hu on European Tour

Folk, Nordic Folk, Pagan Folk

The shamanic techno vikings of EIHWAR are set to join forces with Mongolian rock giants The HU this June for a string of electrifying dates across Germany and France. Known for conjuring wild ritual chaos and myth-fueled dancefloor eruptions, the clan will bring their Viking War Trance rites to new battlefields as main support on The HU’s European tour.

Founded by Asrunn (vocals, traditional percussion) and Mark (machines, vocals), Eihwar have quickly carved out a cult reputation thanks to their viral debut, sold-out ritual appearances, and a first album, Viking War Trance, released through Season of Mist in 2024. Their performances fuse seiðr magic, trance-inducing machines, and Nordic percussion into an ecstatic war cry against modern rigidity.

This marks a rare pairing of sonic traditions: Eihwar’s neo-viking electro chaos will ignite the stage before The HU’s thunderous blend of Mongolian folk metal—offering a double ritual of ancient power and modern force.

Catch Eihwar with The Hu on the following dates:

7 June: Stuttgart, DE @ LKA Longhorn
10 June: Nancy, FR @ L’Autre Canal
11 June: Dijon, FR @ La Vapeur
12 June: Nürnberg, DE @ Z-Bau
15 June: Braunschweig, DE @ Applaus Garten
17 June: Dortmund, DE @ FZW

Tickets are available here: https://www.thehuofficial.com/tour-1

Those unfamiliar with EIHWAR’s stage presence should prepare for something far beyond a concert. The clan’s live rites are mytho-industrial ceremonies—half rave, half berserker séance. In last year’s live performance at Hellfest, captured in a blaze of runes and LED pulses, Asrunn wields the drum like a warhammer while unleashing guttural invocations, her voice channeled through ancestral flame and distortion.

Many bands have explored the Pagan & Norse worlds over the last 15 years seeking atmospheric, acoustic and ritual sounds with great seriousness. This is not the path EIHWAR chose.

Although the musicians of Eihwar are virtuosos in their acoustic traditional instruments, their goal is to bring some fun… and as much chaos as possible during their concerts, provoking the craziest trance on dancefloors. They bring a festive and furious neo-viking music whose primal force is based on technoid machines, mixed with trance vocals, shamanic drums and traditional Nordic sounds. Electronics are a ‘new steel’ for those modern warriors, cold and powerful. As the web already says, the duo is a kind of new ‘Viking Carpenter Brut’.

Thus, Eihwar named the single, the album but also their style of music ‘Viking War Trance’.

“We are heavy drops of rain announcing lightning.
We call for war:
A war waged against our judgments,
Our inner demons, our limits,
Our stiffness of body and mind.
We don’t want our best enemies to spare us
Nor to be spared by those we love.
We invoke a war for our thoughts,
A flamboyant chaos of fire & ice,
Cradle of creation.
”

Lineup:
Asrunn: Vocals, Traditional Percussions
Mark – Vocals, Machines
