Horizon Ignited share new digital single ‘The Catalyst’

Melodic Death Metal

After the release of their highly acclaimed third studio album Tides earlier this year, Finnish melodic death metal powerhouse HORIZON IGNITED return with brand-new music: the band proudly presents their latest standalone single “The Catalyst”, available now on all streaming platforms!

Originally written and recorded during the Tides sessions, The Catalyst didn’t quite fit the narrative flow of the final album. Still, the band felt strongly connected to the song – and knew it deserved to see the light of day. Following their recent cover of Children Of Bodom’s “Sixpounder”, this marks the next fresh chapter in the band’s evolving sonic journey.

The band comments:

*”When the recording of our latest album ‘Tides’ was done, we were left with a few songs that didn’t quite fit in with the rest of the album. We thought that the songs were great and we didn’t want to just leave them ignored so we decided that they are going to be released separately.

So now we proudly present ‘The Catalyst’.
It’s kinda like a mix of Korn and In Flames—groovy, heavy and bouncy but still very melodic. We are definitely going to add this to our live sets!”*

Driven by thick riffs, infectious grooves and the band’s signature blend of aggression and melody, “The Catalyst” shines as a powerful standalone track that expands the emotional and sonic landscapes introduced on Tides.

Fans can expect a heavy, modern and highly energetic track that will undoubtedly become a new live favorite.

Tides is a profound exploration of the human condition, weaving themes of fragility, resilience, and transformation into an electrifying sonic journey. Recorded with Juho Räihä (Swallow The Sun) at Inka Studio and mixed/mastered by Chris Clancy (Machine Head, Kataklysm), Tides sets a new standard for melodic death metal.
