Ostrogoth, together with the rest of the belgian metal scene had a hard mental setback when their good friend and longtime bandmember Rudy Vercruysse was diagnosed with cancer and eventually succumbed to the disease in early 2015. Because of this diagnosis Rudy was replaced by Geert Annys in 2014. After the summer of 2016 Geert will be replaced by Tom Tas, a 34 year old belgian musician who has proven his talents in other bands such as 23 Acez, Quantum Fantay and Neo-Prophet. He will join the rest of the remaining members for the recording of the new Ostrogoth album which is expected to be released in the fall of 2017. Tom has stated to be very excited to join the ranks of the veteran heavy metal band as he is big fan of them for years. Before they will retreat in the studio the band will be doing several gigs including the Herbakkersfestival on the 12th of august in Eeklo.
