VIDEO PREMIERE: Blackened death metallers Graufar unleash ‘Buried In Flames’

Blackened death metal band GRAUFAR release their new single and music video BURIED IN FLAMES on January 30th, but are sharing it already with us here exclusively! This is the band’s second single release from their upcoming album ‘VIA NECROPOLIS’, out March 20th.

 Upcoming album ‘VIA NECROPOLIS’ is an uncompromising release born of vicious extremity, speedy grooves, urgent solos and brutal vocals. Lyrically, the album explores themes such as social criticism, the darker side of human nature, transience and death. The texts are written in both English and German (such as Charon and Foltertrog).

GRAUFAR (an old German word for the color “grey”) was founded in late 2020 in Linza, Austria. The band creates a groovy symbiosis of black and death metal, complemented by well-accented melodic elements. Typical black metal screams are occasionally interrupted by deep growls. Both the English and German lyrics explore themes such as social criticism, the darker sides of human nature, transience and death, as well as personal experiences. On April 13th, 2024, the band released their well received independent debut album ‘SCORDALUS.’  In the same year, GRAUFAR won the Wacken Metal Battle Austria and went on to place ninth in the international finals at Wacken Open Air.
