Black metal force Détresse unleash relentless new track ‘Les Nuits Jaunes’

Born from a cross-continental collaboration between Austria and Québec (Canada), Black Metal trio DÉTRESSE unleash “Les Nuits Jaunes”, the second single taken from their upcoming album “Misères”, set for release on October 9 via Vendetta Records. Featuring vocals of Vestal of Merrimack, the track sees DÉTRESSE deliver one of the band’s most intense and uncompromising compositions to date.

DÉTRESSE about the song: “For ‘Les Nuits Jaunes’ we chose to collaborate with Vestal of Merrimack, whose frantic voice and distinctive vocal style complement the song’s relentless intensity, this being our harshest track to date.Vestal also wrote the lyrics, taking the listener deep into the darkest corners of misery, where no light can pierce through.“

Following the foundation laid by their 2025 debut “Pessimismes”, “Misères” continues DÉTRESSE‘s uncompromising approach to Black Metal while pushing their sound further. The album deals with the misery of mankind and human hardship, exploring how oppression, deprivation, and despair shape everyday existence, blurring the boundaries between past and present. Shaped through raw, unadulterated soundscapes, “Misères” offers a journey into the darkest corners of humanity.

Musically, the album retains the band’s raw and uncompromising sound while cutting back on atmospheric passages in favour of greater intensity and harsh, relentless riffing. Built on relentless riffs, shifting tempos, and uncompromising vocal intensity, DÉTRESSE delivers Black Metal as it should be – without frills, gimmicks, or trends.

In support of the release, DÉTRESSE are heading out on a European winter tour together with Darvaza, Merrimack, and Helleruin. The run includes festival stops at Eindhoven Metal Meeting (Netherlands) and De Mortem et Diabolum (Germany), dates are as follows:
