Acid Attack breaths new life into classic heavy metal with latest single ‘Wolfsbane’ and announces new EP

Heavy Metal

The Dutch heavy metal band Acid Attack have released their newest single ‘Wolfsbane’. This being their opening track for the upcoming EP Aftermath to be released on the 18th of December. ‘Wolfsbane’ is now available on all streaming platforms.

Listen to ‘Wolfsbane‘ on Spotify.

‘Wolfsbane’ retains the energy and melodic power of classic heavy metal, the way we’ve come to love from ‘80s bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, whilst being empowered by the modern character of Acid Attack.

Guitarist Mark Doeland comments:

“We have really tried to capture that classic heavy metal feel whilst living up to the modern standards of production.”

Thematically speaking, ‘Wolfsbane’ combines the tearing relationship between man and nature, and the human urge to find a scapegoat.

Mark Doeland states:

“We notice two concerning topics within our society that seem to go hand in hand. Our connection to nature continues to worsen and we also notice that we as a society seem to drift further apart. Once you fail to understand one another, and feel like you aren’t being heard, you start pointing at each other and you resort to drastic measures.

Acid Attack creates high-octane, ‘80s inspired heavy metal with a modern twist and powerful female vocals. This combination results in a sound familiar to seasoned metalheads and newcomers to the genre alike. Their newest single ‘Wolfsbane’ proves that classic heavy metal is still very much alive.

Tracklist:

1. Wolfsbane

2. Raindance

3. The Flight

4. Messenger Of Death

Just like their previous releases Desolation (2025) and Face the Past (2023), Aftermath was recorded at the Plug Unit Studio in Reeuwijk together with producer Hans Pieters.

Vocalist Kayleigh Lieverse comments:

“Working together with Hans is always a pleasure. We still love to record live in the studio with everybody present and we feel you can hear that in our music. To us it feels more human and alive.”

The Aftermath EP will be released on the 18th of December, followed by a release show at Studio Gonz in Gouda (The Netherlands) on the 19th of December. “We’re really proud of our release of ‘Wolfsbane’ and can’t wait to show everybody the rest of our EP,” Kayleigh concludes.

Upcoming shows:
7th November Ouwe Goudse Festival in SoWhat!, Gouda
12th December Metalcafé with Terradown and SCAR in O.J.V. de Koornbeurs, Delft
19th December EP release with SCAR in Studio Gonz, Gouda

Acid Attack is:
Kayleigh Lieverse (vocals)
Mark Doeland (guitar)
Sem Holierhoek (guitar)
Youri ter Steege (bass)
Roel van Ellinckhuijzen (drums)
