Ankea Festival 2026 line-up complete with Leprous, Textures, Sylvaine and more

Atmospheric Black Metal, Avant-garde Metal, Post-Black, Post-metal, Progressive Metal, Sludge Metal

The inaugural edition of Ankea Festival has officially completed its 2026 line-up. Set to take place on June 5–6, 2026, in a striking post-industrial lakeside setting in Tampere, the new Finnish festival continues to position itself as a carefully curated gathering for fans of atmospheric, progressive and emotionally immersive heavy music.

The final additions to the bill are Leprous, Textures, Sylvaine, Royal Sorrow and Demonic Death Judge — five acts that perfectly encapsulate the festival’s blend of progressive depth, post-metal atmosphere and forward-thinking heaviness.

Leprous will headline Friday night, bringing their dynamic and emotionally charged progressive metal to Tampere, while Saturday will close with a very special performance by Katatonia celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Great Cold Distance — a landmark album that helped redefine modern melancholic metal.

Across the two days, Ankea Festival offers an impressively curated mix of international and Finnish talent. Friday’s program features Ihsahn, post-rock visionaries This Will Destroy You, Irish instrumental greats God Is An Astronaut, psychedelic explorers SLIFT, Icelandic darkwave trio Kælan Mikla, as well as Finnish names CIRCLE and Virta, alongside American prog collective Earthside.

Saturday continues the immersive journey with psychedelic black metal pioneers Oranssi Pazuzu, Norwegian prog veterans Green Carnation, the ethereal soundscapes of A.A. Williams, and solo material from Bruce Soord of The Pineapple Thief. Further depth comes from UK prog outfit Ihlo, and Finnish artists Vermilia and Rioghan.

With its first edition, Ankea Festival is clearly aiming for atmosphere and artistry over sheer scale — offering a thoughtfully constructed weekend that flows between progressive metal, post-rock, darkwave and avant-garde heaviness in a unique industrial-meets-nature setting.

Day tickets are now available for €99.90, while two-day passes cost €169.90, via the festival’s official website. The detailed running order and further information about the festival area and services will be announced in the spring.

For a first edition, Ankea Festival 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing new additions to the Nordic summer calendar.
