Belgian outfit Behind The Veil share new single ‘Renegade’

Belgian melodic metal outfit Behind The Veil are gearing up for a major step forward in 2026 with the release of their new single “Renegade”, out since March 11, 2026 across all major streaming platforms.

The track offers a powerful glimpse into the band’s upcoming EP Betrayed By Shadows, which will be released on March 20, 2026 in both digital and physical formats (CD and vinyl). Physical copies will also be available at the band’s local live shows.

According to the band, “Renegade” captures a story of personal liberation and defiance:

“The song explores the journey of breaking free from control, expectations, and inner struggles. Through intense imagery of fire, ashes, storms, and broken chains, it tells the story of someone who refuses to be confined by rules or fear.”

Musically, the track highlights one of the band’s defining traits — the dynamic interplay between melodic clarity and aggressive intensity.

“The contrast between clean vocals and aggressive screams reinforces this emotional arc — the clean lines express determination and clarity, while the screams embody rage, rebellion, and raw strength. Together, they create a dynamic portrait of someone who refuses to bow to the world. We are renegades!”

Betrayed By Shadows will feature both “Renegade” and the title track “Betrayed By Shadows”, offering fans a deeper look into the band’s evolving sound.

Formed in Kortrijk, Belgium in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, Behind The Veil quickly built momentum with their two-vocalist lineup and melodic yet powerful take on modern metal. The band released their first independent singles in 2023 and has steadily grown its reputation on the live circuit. Their early rise was highlighted by People’s Choice awards at Metalworks Fest and Mentalfest, underscoring their growing support within the local metal scene.
