Greek extreme metal pioneers Septicflesh coming to CoolHead Live 2025!

Atmospheric Black Metal, Black Metal, Extreme metal

We only just posted about events you should consider going to in Finland this summer, mentioning CoolHead Live as a really cool concert series, and here they are with a new announcement!

Septicflesh, who have been playing versatile and meandering death metal since 1990, will arrive in Finland in July. The band will showcase their heavy music on Thursday, July 3 in the backyard of CoolHead Brew, which has also been called the most beautiful gig venue in Helsinki. The Danish black metal phenomenon Afsky and the Finnish pagan metal artist Vermilia, who have recently risen to the album charts, will also take the stage.

Septicflesh released their latest, critically acclaimed album ‘Modern Primitive’ in 2022. However, the band, which skilfully combines symphonic elements with their extreme metal, returned in February 2025 with the powerful ‘Amphibians‘ EP. The gig at CoolHead Live is the band’s only one in Finland this summer.

The Danish band Afsky, who rose to the attention of the metal audience with their debut EP in 2015 as a one-man project, has since released three full-length albums and grown into a convincing band live.

Vermilia, who has become one of Finland’s most interesting metal artists with their distinctive expression, released their acclaimed Karsikko album at the beginning of the year. The album, which combines oppressively gloomy atmosphere and ugly beauty with pagan metal, rose amazingly to the official Finnish album chart.

The CoolHead Live concert series, which will be held for the fifth time in July 2025, will bring a two-week celebration of music, sunshine, microbrewery beer and food to the Viikki Nature Reserve in Helsinki. In July, the event area, which can accommodate up to more than a thousand people, will feature a diverse mix of Finnish and foreign artists in the unique environment of the tropical garden Gardenia. The concerts are organized by the Helsinki-based microbrewery CoolHead Brew, which is located in Gardenia’s premises, in cooperation with the program agency Nahka Agency.
