Loathe return with first single in three years ‘Gifted Every Strength’

Alternative Metal, Experimental metal, Metalcore, Nu Metal, Progressive Metal

In the years since their last full-length proper, 2020’s “I Let It in and It Took Everything”, genre-blurring UK outfit Loathe have taken on totemic status within the landscape of global heavy music. Blending the hard-edged sounds of metal with an innate understanding of space and texture, the band have helped to influence a new frontier of experimentation coming from a genre known in the past for its rigid genre confines. Spending the last five years on tour with the likes of Korn, Knocked Loose, Glassjaw and more has inspired anticipation from fans about the next evolution of Loathe’s immersive, impactful sound. That evolution is introduced with “Gifted Every Strength“; the band’s first new single in three years.

An elastic, eclectic fusion of ideas, “Gifted Every Strength” is the sound of a band expanding their own imaginations and in turn, expanding the horizons of their audience. Uncovered within the track’s 6 minutes 10 seconds is a devastating journey through hard-edged metal, euphoric psychedelia, driving shoegaze-esque tones, complete with a driving rhythmic line that shifts and metamorphoses as the song unfolds. It’s the ultimate statement from a band whose only mission is to realise the unexpected, and “Gifted Every Strength” delivers in bringing something genuinely unique to the fore.

A dynamic, unpredictable glimpse into the future of the band’s already beguiling sound, “Gifted Every Strength” ushers in a new era of Loathe, and with it, a chance to shatter the boundaries of metal all over again.
