Mantah breathes new life into 90s classic ‘Crazy’ with nu metal cover

Alternative Metal, Nu Metal

After a period of silence, Belgium’s Mantah is back in full force. Their new single “Crazy” is a bold reinterpretation of the iconic 90s classic hit by Seal. And it is the second powerful statement from their upcoming album ANTIDOTE, set for release on October 31, 2025.

While the original version of “Crazy” is known for its soulful, atmospheric vibe, Mantah propels the song straight into the pit: crushing riffs, heavy grooves, and gripping melodies give it a fresh, powerful edge. The result is a high-energy nu-metal take that feels both nostalgic and contemporary.

Production was once again handled by Tommie Bonajo, who delivered a crisp, cutting-edge mix. For the visuals, Mantah teamed up with rising creative talent Guillian Maertens, who’s responsible for the artwork, photography, and music videos: all capturing the toxic, modern aesthetic of the new era.

The ANTIDOTE album will be celebrated with a release show on November 1 at Club De B in Torhout, the very venue where it all started for Mantah exactly three years ago. A return to their roots, with eyes fixed on the future.

Unlike their debut album, which was released independently, Mantah is now working with Polderrecords, the Belgian label known for pushing bands like Gnome and Hemelbestormer to the next level. The release will receive the full treatment: CD, digital, and vinyl.

With “Crazy , Mantah shows their most creative side yet. The band takes a recognizable classic and makes it their own, delivering energy and authenticity at full throttle. “Crazy”  is both a tribute to the past and a statement from a band ready to write their next chapter.

MANTAH is a dynamic metal band that has been making a serious mark on the Belgian metal scene since 2022. With a distinctive blend of modern metal and the raw energy of the ’90s, their music channels the spirit of icons like KoRn, Linkin Park, and Static-X, while injecting a contemporary edge reminiscent of Bring Me The Horizon and I Prevail.

In just a short time, Mantah has proven their potential with impressive milestones. They played twice at the legendary Alcatraz Festival, captured attention at major events like Fonnefeesten, Rock Affligem, and Parkpop, and supported international acts in iconic venues such as AB Brussels, Cactus Bruges, and Wilde Westen Courtrai – consistently earning praise for their intense, high-impact live shows.

Now setting their sights even higher, Mantah finished the recordings of their 2nd album ‘Antidote’, slated for release in fall 2025. With their unstoppable energy and a sound ready to break through borders, Mantah is poised for the next big step.

Mantah is:
Bert Nauwynck / bass
Lothar Ryheul / drums
Sven Herssens / vocals
Bart Vandeportaele / guitar
Dennis Wyffels / guitar
