Moni Jitchell release new single ‘All To See’

Moni Jitchell released their incredible new single ‘All To See’ yesterday, 23rd September! This track is taken from their forthcoming album ‘AWARE’, slated for release 23rd October. 

“‘All To See’ is in stark contrast to the first single ‘Aware’, of the upcoming release of the same name. While ‘Aware’ is slow, brooding and expansive; ‘All To See’ is faster, angular, and hypnotic. The contrasting push and pull of the guitar against the drums showcases what Moni Jitchell do so well, relentlessly hammering across the entire track. As well as being sonically different, lyrically the track is the opposite of ‘Aware’, showing how the optimism of resilience in the most dire of contexts can blossom through excessive forces of oppression.” – Moni Jitchell

Moni Jitchell are a two-piece from Glasgow, comprised of vocalist and drummer Grant Donaldson (also of Civil Elegies and ex-Outblinker) and 12-string guitarist David Scott (ex-Thin Privilege). Both minimalistic and feral, their sound flits from the noisecore technicality of Converge to the punk fury of HIRS Collective and the mangled electronics of Melt Banana. The band’s debut EP ‘Clear’ was recorded at Glasgow’s Chime Studios in late 2019 by Ross Mcgowan (Dananananakryod, United Fruit) – however, its release was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this period of enforced stasis, the pair honed their now-drumless live configuration, augmenting Donaldson‘s raw screams and Scott‘s No Wave guitar skronk with dense backing tracks and electronics.
