DANKO JONES was touring Europe to support their 12th studio long player ‘Leo Rising’. A triumphant journey through the venues of the continent, and most places have been sold out. This was true for the Mannheim gig as well, a fully packed concert hall and eagerly anticipating crowd were the perfect ingredients for a memorable night and the classic rock of support Tuk Smith and The Restless Hearts was a perfect tastemaker to get things going!

BTL, previously known as beyond the labyrinth have a new album out since they reinvented themselves: ‘The Game’, and came to present the new chapter with a show at The Crossover Music Pub in Ghent, Belgium. Support came from Tannen Baines Tree.

Music lovers were transported into a trance during King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard’s psychedelic rock adventure at Vorst Nationaal in Brussels. The Australian band, notorious for their energetic live shows and experimental sounds, took the audience on a whirlwind tour of genres, from garage rock to metal and funk. Support came from their countrymates of Grace Cummings.

The Kooks showed off all the successes of a long career full of hits at Zenith in Munich, with the support of the alt-rock band Stone! A production by FKP Skorpio.

YUNGBLUD at Kulttuuritalo Helsinki on his “Life on Mars Tour” was quite the rock ‘n’ roll experience. People saying that rock is dead, clearly haven’t seen this guy rockin’ the stage! With support from Boy Bleach, it was an absolutely memorable night!

Ahead of their European shows and the release of their latest, and fifth, album ‘Vol. 5’, we sat down with Tommi and Topi from Finnish rock band The Empire Strikes to talk evolution, gear they haven’t touched in a decade, humour as survival, and the joy of making music that simply feels like them.

A highly entertaining talk with a fun-loving bunch of people who found each other in looking for a “backdoor solution” for everything… not to be taken too seriously except for their music!
