Tuska 2019 announces to be a K-18 event and brings the first name!

Black Metal, News, Symphonic Metal

Before the autumn rain washes away the heat and the sweat of this exceptionally hot summer, it’s good to set your sights on the upcoming one. Tuska 2019 will again be held at the Suvilahti event field, with the dates being the usual last weekend of June, 28.-30.6.2019.

NORWEGIAN ROYALTY
The royalty of symphonic black metal, Norwegian Dimmu Borgir ended their hibernation recently and released their long anticipated new album ”Eonian” this year. The on-going tour has gathered nothing but praise and Tuska-Organization is ecstatic to have Dimmu Borgir as the first announcement of the 2019 line-up.

TUSKA ADOPTS 18 YEAR AGE-LIMIT
Tuska has originally been an all-ages festival, but 2019 will be the first edition that will have the age limit of 18 years for all customers. Festival Director Eeka Mäkynen comments:

”This is a big change and it will enable us to provide a much improved festival experience for the over 18 crowd. In reality, we are able to get rid of bar areas, making it more convenient getting around with your drink and enjoy the festival with less restrictions. Tuska has been one of the last fortresses for the bar areas, due to under age festival goers. Unfortunately the number of under-age people buying tickets has decreased every year, and in 2018 there were less than 100 kids. This number does not justify the expenses of having under-aged people at the festival anymore, and when on the other end of the spectrum there are the opportunities this brings to improve the festival experience for everyone else, doing this is a no-brainer. To balance this out, children are welcome to ”TinyTuska”, where all 3-day and Sunday ticket holders can bring a 0-10 year old future citizen of metal to feel the metal festival vibes on Sunday afternoon.

EARLY CROW TICKETS ON SALE NOW
Special priced “Early Crow” 3-day tickets are now on sale through Tiketti, Ticketmaster, Lippu.fi and Festicket starting at 129 €. Early Crow tickets are on sale until new year or until sold out. The number of tickets is limited, so act fast!
