SUPPORT YOUR LOCALS: highlighting the Belgians and Finns at Tolminator 2025

/ 0 Comments / By :
Not just at the festivals in our own home countries (Belgium and Finland) there is some love to be given to the amazing music that we produce. Tolminator in Slovenia is not just a wonderful metal holiday to go to, they also always have a lot of attention and love for promising bands of plenty of countries and we've had a strong history with our "Belgian Invasion" projects to travel to Tolmin together. And this year there are yet again a couple of our beloved bands from Belgium present on the line-up, but also some proper Finnish representation! Check out who is there that you shouldn't miss out on:

Marche Funèbre

(Beach Stage - Wed 23.7 11:50-12:20)

Marche Funèbre makes regular appearances at our venue Asgaard in Belgium and other events we host, and we couldn’t recommend these guys more. If you’re into slow, heavy, and emotional music, they’re an unmissable act at Tolminator. They’ve carved out a niche with their signature blend of death doom that’s drenched in melancholy and grandeur. Their songs unfold like gothic novels, dipping you in a dark, deep pool of poetry. Expect sorrowful melodies, crushing riffs, and haunting clean vocals that contrast with guttural growls.

Omnium Gatherum

(Tolminator Stage - Wed 23.7 21:00-21:50)

Finnish melodic death metal iconic band Omnium Gatherum deliver one of the tightest and most energetic live shows in melodic death metal. With their soaring leads, thundering rhythm section, and a perfect balance between brutality and melody, they’ve become a staple in the genre. Their songs feel both personal and anthemic, with just the right amount of atmosphere and shred. Expect a set that’s both uplifting and ferocious, if you love music that moves both the head and the heart, these melodeath veterans are a must-see. And barely a month ago they hit us hard with their new single ‘The Last Hero’, giving us hope that some more new work is coming soon…

Mordkaul

(Beach Stage - Sat 26.7 14:20-14:50)

If you’re looking for a classic Swedish melodic death metal sound, but with an updated modern kick, our Belgian friends of Mordkaul will do the trick, adding an extra dose of groove and intensity with their brand of melodeath. Featuring seasoned musicians from the Belgian scene, the band delivers precision, power, and passion in equal measure. Their songs are built on thick, razor-sharp riffs, dynamic shifts, and a dark yet catchy atmosphere. They’ve been raising the bar for melodic death metal for quite some time now and last year’s ‘Feeding the Machine’ was an absolute beast of an album. Catch them now before they become main stage regulars everywhere.

Brutal Sphincter

(Beach Stage - Sat 26.7 16:10-16:50)

Looking for something outrageous, extreme, and wildly entertaining? Enter Brutal Sphincter, Belgium’s kings of satirical goregrind. Their music is a grotesque blend of grind, hardcore, and brutal death, laced with absurd political humor and shocking visuals. But don’t be fooled, because the musicianship is tight, and the grooves are devastating. Their latest album ‘Sphinct-Earth Society’ dives headfirst into social parody, all while inviting you to mosh and laugh at the madness. Their recent show at Obscene Extreme looked like absolute chaos and at some point made a circle pit appear that circled around the whole area and crowd instead of being in the middle of it and we can only imagine what their set will be like on the Beach Stage of the last day of Tolminator. Sign up for an early party here!

Oranssi Pazuzu

(Tolminator Stage - Sat 26.7 22:15-23:15)

Oranssi Pazuzu isn’t just a band, it’s a full-blown psychedelic black metal ritual. Known for their genre-bending soundscapes that blend black metal with all kinds of experimental rock, ambient, and trippy samples, these Finns will take you on a journey like no other. Their latest album ‘Muuntautuja’ is a dense, immersive experience that translates beautifully to the stage, where atmosphere and intensity will radiate from the Tolminator Stage at a perfect time late in the gloomy evening setting. This is music for the mind, challenging, meditative, and overwhelmingly powerful. Don’t expect a typical show, expect to be taken to a different universe for about an hour.
