Abstracted deliver new song & video ‘Axis’ from upcoming album

Extreme metal, Progressive Death Metal, Progressive Metal

Brazilian extreme progressive metal group ABSTRACTED – whose sound blends blistering technicality with melodic and atmospheric moments – returned with the second single from their forthcoming album. Check out “Axis” on all streaming/download digital platforms, or watch the music video HERE:

“Hey, everyone. We are super stoked to present you with our new single ‘Axis,’ and with it a new music video filmed on our return to the stages in Sao Paulo, Brazil. ‘Axis’ is a piece that is very dear to us, which combines all the moods that Abstracted tries to bring as a group. A long, heavy and bold piece of music that we hope you like as much as we do!”

“Now, don’t forget that we also have another single out, ‘Languish’ featuring Chaney Crabb from Entheos, and both songs will be featured on our new album, ‘Hiraeth,’ so don’t forget to pre-order the full thing via M-Theory Audio. We hope you like as much as we do!”

“Axis” is very different from premiere single “Languish” https://youtu.be/d4DnTW_q29U?si=057dX9ApWkhUZ3rG showcasing the diversity and ability of ABSTRACTED. While “Languish” was more brash and aggressive highlighting the group’s more extreme tendencies channeling in deathcore and djent influence, “Axis” displays a 9+ minute progressive odyssey featuring peaks and valleys celebrating the group’s atmospheric, melodic and instrumental prowess marking something inspiring in its workout of notes and emotions.

Both songs come from the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Atma Conflux,’ with the new album ‘Hiraeth’ set for a Feb 20th release on CD and digital. The new album was produced by Diego Castro (Kyrour, Skid Life) with cover artwork by Roberto Emerita. Pre-Order now at http://lnk.to/abstracted All pre-orders will ship from US, Europe or Brazil based on your location.

Tracklist:
1. Axis
2. Languish
3. Sirens
4. To Quench This Insatiable Thirst
5. Requiem
6. The Barren Grave of God
7. The Utter End

It will be almost 4 years since ABSTRACTED’s last release, the album ‘Atma Conflux.’ Since, the band’s core trio – vocalist Rosano Pedro Matiussi, bassist Riverton Vilela Alves and keyboardist Carol Lynn – have been joined by 3 new members – guitarists Leonardo Brito and José Consani along with drummer Fernando Pollon. The revamped lineup have been writing during the downtime and drawing in influences old and new to create something pleasurable and challenging

“’Hiraeth’ is ABSTRACTED’s third release. After ‘Atma Conflux’ we faced lots of lineup changes and that evidently reflected in our way of making music. ‘Hiraeth,’ in some ways, is more grounded, musical and nuanced,” continues singer Rosano. “Atmosphere is the thing we pursued the most on this record. We are very proud of what we built, keeping the fast paced music, but reinventing what we are already known for. “

ABSTRACTED is a six-piece Extreme Progressive Metal band from Brazil that draws influences from the most prominent modern metal acts like Opeth, Vildhjarta and Between the Buried and Me. Their music goes from total utter chaos to jazz fusion influenced passages. On their upcoming release ‘Hiraeth’ ABSTRACTED draw strength from the past and project their 11 year experience into a blend of feelings, heaviness and complexity.

ABSTRACTED is:
Rosano Pedro Matiussi – vocals
Leonardo Brito – guitar
José Consani – guitar
Riverton Vilela Alves – bass
Carol Lynn – keyboards
Fernando Pollon – drums
