Ankea Festival announces 7 more names for its second edition in 2027
Finnish Ankea Festival has announced seven more artists for its second edition, adding Pain of Salvation, Plini, Einar Solberg, Sara, Heretoir, Slow Crush and Noiduin to the lineup. The festival will return to Hiedanranta in Tampere on 18–19 June 2027.
The new additions bring a further mix of progressive metal, instrumental virtuosity, shoegaze and dark folk to a lineup that already features French experimental metal act Igorrr and post-black metal pioneers Alcest as headliners, alongside Kalandra, Der Weg Einer Freiheit, Long Distance Calling, Vulkan and Karmanjakah.

Among the newly announced artists, Swedish progressive metal veterans Pain of Salvation bring their distinctive approach to progressive music, combining intricate arrangements with emotionally charged songwriting and a band you won’t want to miss out on since they don’t play all that often live. Australian guitarist and composer Plini offers a different take on progressive music through his instrumental compositions, while Einar Solberg, best known as the vocalist of Norwegian progressive metal band Leprous, seems to really have enjoyed his time at the festival, returning to bring his solo work to the event.
Finnish alternative rock and metal band Sara adds another homegrown name to the bill, with a catalogue spanning more than two decades. Meanwhile, German post-black metal act Heretoir and Belgian shoegaze band Slow Crush further expand the lineup’s atmospheric side, balancing heavier sounds with immersive textures.
Completing the latest announcement is Finnish dark folk act Noiduin, whose music draws inspiration from Finnish mythology and folklore, incorporating traditional instruments and atmospheric soundscapes.
With these seven additions, Ankea Festival continues to build on its first edition’s focus on progressive, atmospheric and alternative music. The festival returns to Tampere’s Hiedanranta on 18–19 June 2027, with further artists still to be announced.
