Belgian metal outfit NOORD unleash furious new single 'Empress Of The Hollow Crown' • GRIMM Gent

Modern death metal band NOORD return with nothing less then heavy, focussed and expanding even more the boundaries of their sound! They unveil their new single “Empress Of The Hollow Crown” as a taste of what is yet to come, this alongside a fitting lyric video that give you a glimpse of the artwork of the forthcoming album ‘GODFALL’ set to release in March 2027.

“Empress Of The Hollow Crown” is just the beginning. It is NOORD in its purest form to date, combining intense chorusses with devastating hooks, crushing riffs and heavy breakdowns! They leveled the bar and are set to grab you and never let go! Growing in their sound and writing but still staying true towards their sound. Heavy, melodic and in the right moments those atmospheric epic moments!

With “Empress Of The Hollow Crown” they tell the story of false Gods and people pretending to be someone they are not. Growing up fighting against your own demons and seeing people getting idolized is for most the dream until you actually reach that point of knowing that person you idolized for so long. Only on rare occasions does that person live up to everything you expect. But rather fast the cards are on the table, the mask false off and you see the person for who he really is! Now it’s your time to show what you are made of and become the person you are destined to be.

Every song on the album has its own story where they all connect tensely towards real live topics, influences and even mortality. How to deal with that and how to not become a victim from negativity in life! While writing this album they thought of the way of living today. So much misery, sadness are surrounding us. The impact social media has on this and how to stand up from what you see everyday on the news, phone and radio for that matter. Every riff, every melody line and every vocal line represents a certain feeling, an impact on this topic and NOORD can’t wait for the listener to succumb in this whole ride, this rollercoaster of emotions and that it may take you to places you never thought were reachable!

NOORD is a modern death metal band from Antwerp, Belgium. The band first made its mark with the release of its debut full-length album ‘CRYPTOSIS’, in 2023. Exploring themes of societal unrest, personal struggle, and existential reflection, the album delivered a compelling narrative that resonated with listeners and helped establish NOORD within the modern metal scene.

Following an extensive promotional tour, the band returned to writing and released their EP ‘The Grand Design’ in March 2025. Building on the foundations of their earlier work, the release showcased a more mature and focused sound, paired with thought-provoking themes that further cemented NOORD’s reputation as a forward-thinking force in modern metal.

While touring in support of the EP, NOORD wrote and released the standalone single “Mendacious Heretic”. Darker, heavier, and rooted more firmly in death metal, the track marked a pivotal moment in the band’s evolution and laid the groundwork for the direction of their future material.

NOORD continues to push its sound forward with the upcoming release of its new full-length album, ‘GODFALL’, scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. The first single from that album, “Flesh Machine”, has already been released earlier, offering a glimpse into the band’s heavier and more refined direction. As anticipation for ‘GODFALL’ continues to build, NOORD is expanding its reach far beyond Belgium, bringing its powerful live performances to audiences across Europe, including Mallorca, France, and Poland, and steadily growing an international following through its intense and atmospheric approach to metal.
