Album Reviews

With Kneel Before The Death, you get a Finnish deathcore band that slays everything on their path with their blackened and symphonic mindset. Their self-titled album is out now with Ranka Kustannus!

From underdogs to deathcore giants, Lorna Shore have done it again. Their new album ‘I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me’ is an absolute monster, packed with filthy breakdowns, blackened atmospheres, and a bunch of epic, nearly 10-minute journeys that push the genre’s limits. We dove deep into this beast for our full review and for now, it’s already a strong contender for album of the year 2025, out with Century Media Records tomorrow September 12!

The third album is often seen as the most important album for a band, and Slaughter To Prevail absolutely nailed it with ‘Grizzly’, bringing the brutality they’re known for while offering a healthy dose of different sounds and approaches. Out since last Friday via Sumerian Records.

Whitechapel is back and they brought chaos with them. Hail to the godfathers of deathcore that have brought the chaos back in our lives! Their latest album ‘Hymns In Dissonance’ is out via Metal Blade Records. We can’t wait to see them rip up the stage at Tuska this summer!

Brutal deathcore mixed with the classical influences that has been their trademark since the beginning together with the strong voice of Ben Duerr, Shadow Of Intent is building their own masterpieces.

Interviews

Japan’s most extreme Visual Kei deathcore force DEVILOOF is finally coming to Europe to bring their chaos to their fans there, kicking off tomorrow at On The Rocks in Helsinki, Finland! We talked to them ahead of the tour about their sound, influences, and what fans can expect.

We sat down with Onni and Kevin from Assemble the Chariots at Tuska 2024 to talk about their new album ‘Unyielding Night’ (set for release on July 19th via Seek and Strike), how this is the start of a whole universe they’re creating, with the sound they’ve always envisioned for the band from the beginning. And we came back from the talk with 2 things ingrained in our heads: listen to the album from start to finish, and make sure you make it to the release show at On The Rocks in Helsinki where they’ll play the album in its whole for what sounds like a unique experience…

We had a chat with Brujo himself of the Mexican group of gangsters Brujeria!
