Tuska Open Air releases more names for 2017

Black Metal, Death Metal, Doom Metal, Folk Metal, Heavy Metal, News, Progressive, Symphonic Metal, Thrash Metal

At the end of the last edition of Tuska Open Air they promised us to bring us an even more awesome and spectacular event in 2017. Since next year’s summer Tuska celebrates its 20th anniversary from June 30th till July 2nd, we were expecting much. After already 4 impressive names (HIM, Mayhem, Suicidal Tendencies and Brujeria), today they deliver a small batch of extra interesting names…

The biggest name leading the 6 newly released names is Finland’s own Apocalyptica. The gentlemen are going to perform the music they got famous for: Apocalyptica Plays Metallica by Four Cellos. Their debut album has turned 20 this year and playing on the 20th anniversary of Tuska seems a perfect match to celebrate this.

Besides Apocalyptica, we get heavy/speed metal through Dirkschneider (playing Accept) and the Finnish female fronted Battle Beast. Musical geniouses of Wintersun will be present to take us to magical places in time and space with their creations. For more doom and gloom we get the Swedish female fronted doom metal band Avatarium. And it seems like there are going to be quite some ladies this year cause Anneke Van Giersbergen (renowned worldwide for her work with The Gathering and many guest appearances) is coming to Finland with her new progressive metal band Vuur!

If Tuska continues on this level it promises to be indeed an even greater edition! We’re looking forward to more announcements and will keep you updated of anything new considering this festival. Hope to see you there in about 7 months! In the mean time enjoy their after movie of 2016:
