Doodseskader unleashed a killer of a first track with ‘Lepers’

Grunge, News, Sludge Metal

We got introduced to this Belgian band with the line “hard times require even harder music, enter Doodseskader“. And that’s exactly what you get with their first track ‘Lepers’, which they unleashed upon the world only a couple of days ago. A haunting atmosphere with at times atomic punches to the gut of heaviness, all created by just a dirty rumbling bass guitar, tight drums and a warm, yet raw at the right times, voice. A wall of sound that creeps relentlessly towards you, constructed to near perfection, making you never miss any other possible instruments. Watch the video of the first single here:

It’s not too surprising that the first track of a band that seemingly comes out of nowhere hits home this hard. DOODSESKADER (or “death squad” in English) consists of Tim De Gieter (Amenra, Every Stranger Looks Like You,…) on bass and Sigfried Burroughs (Kapitan Korsakov, The K., …) on drums and vocals.

By mixing the punitive nature of sludge and metal with elements reminiscent of 90’s grunge and even hip hop, DOODSESKADER‘s only mission is to pay tribute to its name.

The first single ‘Lepers’ was recorded and mixed in Much Luv Studio (Amenra, Brutus, Throane) and mastered by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Oathbreaker) and gives a glimpse on the brutal and relentless universe that is DOODSESKADER. And with their debut album ‘MMXX : Year Zero‘ being scheduled for release in November, we won’t have to wait too long to get to experience more…
