Okkultist set to release debut album in early 2019 with Fernando Ribeiro’s Alma Mater Records!

Death Metal, News

This band will reinvent evil! OKKULTIST, the new Portuguese Death Metal shooting stars, have completed the recordings for ‘Reinventing Evil‘. Their debut album will see the day of light in early 2019, through Fernando Ribeiro‘s (MOONSPELL) new record label ALMA MATER RECORDS! Says the Portuguese singer and label boss:

“After listening to the rough mixes of what will become Reinventing Evil, I am more certain than ever that it was a very good move for Alma Mater Records to sign Okkultist and handle their debut album. They are the kind of band the Portuguese scene needs: talented, young, focused and just fucking brutal. Portuguese Death Metal has never sounded so exciting in my ears so we can’t wait to release this beast upon you and help you to reinvent evil together with this amazing Portuguese talent.”

The album is currently getting mixed by Tue Madsen (Meshuggah, Moonspell, The Haunted) and it was produced by Pedro Paixão (Moonspell‘s keyboard player and songwriter), recorded by Tiago Canadas at the Poison Apple Studios in Lisbon, Portugal. The band can’t wait to share the evil result with the heavy music scene as anticipation grows for the young band while Fernando calls them “the most exciting Portuguese Death Metal ever“. Time to reinvent evil and get Portuguese Death Metal under everyone’s radar! The band comments:

“It’s time to step up the game, and bring you the new, unholy, unassailable, untamed, unleashed, blood shedding, soul sucking, head crushing, corpse eating, diabolical as all filthy evil fucking hell, version of Okkultist ever. We will bring you pain! Get ready for some gnarly evil tracks!”

OKKULTIST formed back in late 2015. Two years and memorable live shows later, their debut EP ‘Eye Of The Beholder‘ was released by the band independently, but caught up and spread all around Europe and overseas – selling out every single printed copy. Even at this early stage, OKKULTIST already had the honor to curse stages such as at Mosher Fest or Female Growler United Front in Portugal and as an opening act for legendary names such as Entombed AD. Inspired by the likes of Master, Abomination, early Morbid Angel, Death or Dismember, OKKULTIST pick up where impure 90’s Death Metal left and are ready to unleash upon you their debut album ‘Reinventing Evil‘, that will be released worldwide around March 2019. OKKULTIST became the very first band ever to sign with Fernando Ribeiro‘s new label ALMA MATER RECORDS. Stay tuned for many more evil news and first album tunes to be unleashed soon!
