Party.San Metal Open Air 2026 confirms major new wave of bands

Party.San Metal Open Air has announced a substantial new batch of bands for its 2026 edition. Newly confirmed acts include Sadistic Intent, Dark Funeral, Sventevith, Devourment, Sacred Reich, Wolves in the Throne Room, Misery Index, Asagraum, Groza, Internal Bleeding, Begging for Incest, 200 Stab Wounds, Morbus Dei, Bloody Vengeance, Messticator, Evoken, Lucifer’s Child, Todomal, and Impurity.

These names join an already strong lineup, as the festival had previously confirmed bands such as Testament, Hypocrisy, Amorphis, Firespawn, Desaster, In The Woods…, Wolfbrigade, Sorcerer, Wormed, Sear Bliss, Tulus, and Jungle Rot. Unfortunately, Mammoth Grinder have cancelled their appearance and will no longer be part of the 2026 lineup.

Party.San Metal Open Air will take place for the 30th time from 6 to 8 August 2026, once again at Obermehler airfield near Schlotheim in Germany, roughly a four-hour drive from the Dutch border. The festival is known for its focus on the more extreme and heavy corners of metal, including death, black, grind, thrash, d-beat, and doom.

Over the years, Party.San has hosted many renowned bands from the extreme metal scene, with recurring appearances by acts such as Dying Fetus, Behemoth, Primordial, Watain, Marduk, Bloodbath, and Unleashed, giving a clear impression of the festival’s musical direction.

The festival remains deliberately compact, welcoming around 10,000 visitors and featuring two stages, ensuring short walking distances and minimal waiting times. Camping is available in classic old-school style, allowing attendees to pitch their tents right next to their cars.
