Galge drops new video ‘Genklang’ ahead of upcoming album

Black Metal, Death Metal, Extreme metal, Post-rock

“Genklang” is the second single from Galge’s upcoming 2025 album, Dødelig. On Genklang, the band delves deeper into experimental and melodic songwriting without losing their signature heavy sound. Darkness and light are represented equally in both the music and the lyrics, which explore the realization that great strife has been overcome—though never forgotten.

When you can’t come to terms with fitting in, you have to go against the grain. The Danish extreme metal band GALGE are innovative and creative, and have created their own sound by not participating in stereotypical genre conventions.

GALGE is an extreme metal band that plays brutal and progressive music. The band mixes elements from a plethora of genres; such as death metal, black metal and post rock. This all culminates in their trademark beautiful chord-progressions, technical riffs and odd time signatures.

GALGE
is fronted by lead singer Søren Tuborg. Tuborg is known for his dynamic, crushing growls and shrieks as well as his extremely wide vocal-range. All the lyrics are in Danish and you can feel the importance of the lyrical contents in every performance. Sofus Emil Kromann mixes virtuoso-like guitar playing with aggressive and dirty noise which gives the band their unique sound. Mathias Lundbæk (Drums) and Halfdan Geertsen (bas) are the core of the band with their immensely heavy grooves that makes the band sound massive.

Since their debut album “Løkkelig” in 2021 the band has been a busy live-act in the Danish metal scene. They’ve played most of Denmark’s well known venues as well as SPOT Festival, Copenhell freezes over and Copenhell 2023.

2024 marks GALGE’s artistic peak and they’re ready to release their sophomore album. Their sound has only gotten more refined, deafening and piercing. GALGE’s musical abilities and technical professionalism has only been strengthened by their live performances. GALGE is lyrically obsessed with human emotion, and subjects of gore and misanthropy are nowhere to be found in the lyrics. GALGE however are more interested in common day feelings and what lies behind them, the complexities of love, anxiety and human interaction etc.

GALGE is the top of the peak, when it comes to the new wave of Danish metal bands. They truly show that Denmark can deliver on an international scale.
