Nordjevel release new single ‘Unbound in Death’
Norwegian black metal band NORDJEVEL have released “Unbound in Death,” the first single from their fourth full-length album Damnous, accompanied by an official music video. The track opens the campaign for the record, the band’s debut release for Season of Mist‘s Underground Activists imprint, due for release on December 11th.
One of the album’s fastest and most intense pieces, “Unbound in Death” lives up to its title, driven by a fierce, demonic vocal delivery from Doedsadmiral. Damnous carries nine tracks of Doedsadmiral‘s recurring lyrical territory, war, death, anti-Christianity and Norse mythology, sung across Norwegian and English. Guitars, bass and guest vocals were tracked at Studio Nyhagen with engineer Kjartan Hesthagen, and the album was mixed and mastered at Studio Fredman by Fredrik Nordström, who also handled the band’s previous album Gnavhòl.

Nordjevel formed in Askim, Norway in 2015 around vocalist Doedsadmiral. Three albums in, the arrival of guitarist Destructhor (ex-Morbid Angel, Myrkskog, Zyklon) pushed the band from a melodic, folk-inflected debut toward the denser, death-informed attack that now defines their sound. Behind Gnavhòl, they toured Europe alongside Taake, then Aeternus, and have played Inferno, Wacken, Hellfest, Bloodstock, Maryland Deathfest and Brutal Assault.
Damnous was produced by Kjartan Hesthagen at Studio Nyhagen and Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman. The album was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman. Artwork is by Khaos Diktator Design, with photography by Necrolust Productions. The video for “Unbound in Death” was directed by Claudio Marino, produced by Artax Film.

NORDJEVEL was founded in the unholy year of 2015 by Doedsadmiral. He contacted Widigs (Marduk) and then Nord about this project and decided to start making music together. Bass player DzeptiCunt (ex-Ragnarok) joined forces late 2015 and shortly became an important asset to our line-up. After a quick break in the autumn of 2017, Widigs left the band to focus on Marduk. Valla (Vredehammer, ex-Abbath) joined on guitar and became a permanent member.
During the recording process of the bands second album, Nordjevel parted ways with Nord. Destructhor (ex-Morbid Angel, Myrkskog) joined as a permanent member together with Dominator (ex-Dark Funeral) during fall 2018. Nordjevel has become an unstoppable force!
The self-titled debut album Nordjevel was released in January of 2016. In March of 2017 the EP “Krigsmakt” was released exclusively as a 12″ vinyl. Later on released as a split CD/MC together with Avslut.
The bands second album Necrogenesis saw the light of day in March of 2019. The EP Fenriir was released in May of 2021 and the bands third full length Gnavhòl was released 23rd of September 2022. Recorded, mixed at Studio Fredman by Fredrik Nordström. They then went on a eueopean tour with Taake following the album. After a break in 2024, they resurfaced and recorded their yet to be unveiled 4th studio album, and went on another european tour, this time with Aeternus.
