Tuska unleashed the first batch of bands for the 2024 line-up and it seems they put their chips strongly on modern metal/metalcore with Bring Me The Horizon, Bloodred Hourglass, Bury Tomorrow, Make Them Suffer, Infected Rain and Fixation, proggy music with Opeth, Vola, Voyager and Riverside, and power metal with Alestorm, Angus McSix and Brothers Of Metal. And of course, festival regulars Amorphis and Stam1na belong to the party as well!

Hellsinki Metal Festival is becoming a permanent fixture in the Finnish summer festival landscape, and after 2 successful editions, the organisation decided they didn’t want to wait for another year. In comes a smaller winter edition of the main event about halfway December 2024, bringing amazing extreme metal bands together like Omnivortex, Batushka, Belphegor and headliners Dark Funeral!

They’re celebrating a quarter of a century long career this year, but last November we still caught Comeback Kid in Helsinki while on tour through Scandinavia and Europe! A real bombshell of a hardcore music night with amazing support bands Spaced and Prowl warming up the crowd!

Finnish metal institution Wolfheart decided to wrap up their year with one last show at On The Rocks in Helsinki, and with them they brought the melodeath talents Swansong and Scythe of Sorrow to warm the crowd up for a great night of Finnish metal! An event by Nahka Agency!

Finland’s band of misfits King Satan released their latest album ‘The Devil’s Evangelion’ via Noble Demon, and such an epic album deserves a proper release tour of course. With them, they brought their friends of the dark elektro duo Miseria Ultima to open the night, and doomy outfit The Abbey as direct support at the Helsinki stop. An excellent night of great music and friends, and with all bands in absolute top form!

On the back of the release of their latest album ‘Friend of a Phantom’, VOLA embarked on an extensive European tour and dropped by Vanha Ylioppilastalo in Helsinki, Finland in November to repeat the amazing performance they had at Tuska this past summer! With them, they brought the ever enchanting Charlotte Wessels and Feather Mountains. An event by TuskaLive.

Throwback to Normandie finally making it back to Finland to celebrate their 2021 release ‘Dark & Beautiful Secrets’ and blew the roof off On The Rocks with the support from Balance Breach and Delta Enigma.

In Flames crammed the Jäähalli arena in Helsinki full with an energetic, pulsating crowd with the help of country mates At The Gates, Imminence and Orbit Culture, giving the people a taste of both the old and the new in Swedish metal!

Saor amazed us at Tiivistämö in Helsinki a good week ago with their mesmerizing soundscape, very special guests …and Oceans and support from Marrasmieli!

Heilung came, saw and conquered the sold out Jäähalli in Helsinki at the end of October, yet another absolutely magical show by a phenomenon in the music scene. And their guests Eivør and Lili Refrain were the perfect people to warm an already excited crowd up even more!

A couple of months ago, the French vikings of Skáld came to put a spell on everyone that showed up at Ääniwalli with their Nordic folk and turned the night into one to remember. Support came from the hurdy-gurdy maestro Guilhem Desq, an event by All Things Live Finland.

The yearly preclub show for Hellsinki Industrial Festival was yet again filled with some banging artists going from Carnal Machinery and Jessi Frey, to dark electronica artist ESA!

Dead By April brought a true modern metal and metalcore party to Helsinki with the help of UK’s Blood Youth and Finland’s Ember Falls!

Amon Amarth and Machine Head came, saw and delivered! The ‘Vikings & Lionhearts tour’ made a stop in Helsinki, Finland and set the room on fire, quite literally… Support came from Swedish melodeath supergroup The Halo Effect.

On Friday 23th of September, we witnessed a historical night of rock ‘n’ roll when the original lineup of the legendary band Hanoi Rocks performed for the first time in 40 years in front of a sold out arena with over 8000 people in Jäähalli, Helsinki at Michael Monroe’s 60th birthday extravaganza.

The old school “Brummie Hardcore Punks” of GBH came to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their debut album ‘City Baby Attacked by Rats’ and started a riot at On The Rocks in Helsinki with support from Broken Trend and Likaiset Pikkarit!
