Album Reviews
Our Mirage is coming to town with their second album ‘Fractured Minds’ bringing a great record with emotional metal filled with nasty breakdowns! Out now with Arising Empire!
Paleface Swiss started the new year properly with the release of their EP ‘The Wilted’. More emotional, more brutal, showing different sides of a band that is going places right now! Catch them live on tour in Europe with Stick To Your Guns and Static Dress right now or this summer when they visit many European festivals, including some of our favorites like Tuska and Alcatraz!
Australian modern metal band Ghostseeker unleashed their debut full-length album ‘Divergence’ into the world at the end of April via ROAR. A band that dares to do something different and experiment and discover their own style, and with this album they’re ready to take over the world!
25 years and 8 albums later, Killswitch Engage delivers a full on metalcore album called ‘This Consequence’, out with Metal Blade Records. No surprises, just full on high-quality Killswitch Engage with their signature mix of emotion and brutality.
Architects = brutality on this album. They are back with the blegh and brutal breakdowns just the way we like it, but without completely forgetting their more recent sound and sense of doing things differently. Out vvia Epitaph Records.
Not too long ago, As I Lay Dying was back with a slab of solid metalcore songs on the new album ‘Through Storms Ahead’, released via Napalm Records. Just too bad it came surrounded with a bunch of negativity and an unsure future.
Last year, Holding Absence released ‘The Noble Art Of Self Destruction’, an album that left quite an impression on one of our writers, an album that tells a beautiful story on top of a bed of beautiful music. It is metalcore, but very melodic and not as heavy as you would think, released via SharpTone Records!
While She Sleeps can make music speak, even with no lyrics. What they’ve accomplished again on their latest album ‘Self Hell’ is truly beautiful. Out via Spinefarm Records.
At the end of last month, the Swedish metalcore legends Dead By April were finally back with their latest album ‘The Affliction’, another solid album that on the one hand surprises with some really cool collaborations with other bands and artists, but on the other hand doesn’t really bring in much new. If you’re a fan of the band, you’ll love this, though!
Metalcore institution Unearth is back with some melodic and brutal core tunes on their new album ‘The Wretched; The Ruinous’, released via Century Media Records!
